The Didsbury String Quartet Plays Eurovision warmly invites you to join them for an afternoon concert of Eurovision classics. Guided by our compère, the quartet will transport you across the globe with their tribute to your favourites in the beautiful setting of Liverpool Town Hall.
Think Eurovision meets Bridgerton as the Didsbury String Quartet delves into the Euro pop, ballads and folk from years of douze point past. Sit back, relax, and spend your afternoon in style before heading out to the evening events across the city.
To add to the prestige of this unique event, the Lord Mayor of Liverpool will also be in attendance to welcome guests prior to Didsbury String Quartet’s performance.
The Didsbury String Quartet was formed in 2012, just after graduating from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. Made up of freelance musicians, they have performed all over the world.
The musicians of the quartet have made numerous television and radio appearances, filming on shows such as Peaky Blinders, Victoria, and Bridgerton as well as numerous others. In fact, our violinists even performed alongside the UK’s Jade Ewen at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 final. Whether in the recording studio or performing live, they have worked with names such as Ellie Goulding, Gary Barlow, Sting, and Lady Gaga.
When not on the film set or in the studio, some of our musicians can be found in the dark pits of the West End performing on musicals such as Hamilton and Les Misérables, or on the stage with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, BBC Philharmonic, or the Hallé.
Set up originally to entertain at private functions, the Didsbury String Quartet have performed at hundreds of weddings and events – in fact, the majority of their bookings involve providing wallpaper music for people tying the knot!
Whatever the occasion, the Didsbury String Quartet love performing and thrive in the versatility that comes with the job.
