All Saints Church and the Lewis Carroll Centre are open every day, and free to visit, but for the first weekend of HOD (Sept 9-10) they are putting on a display in the centre focusing on foreign language editions of Lewis Carroll’s works.

The Lewis Carroll Centre, built in the local sandstone and semi-circular in shape, has tall, elegant windows to let in the daylight, as well as display lighting. Graphic panels explore the family background and life of Lewis Carroll and there is space for schools and interest groups to meet and work. Over the door hangs the mission bell that called the canal folk to Reverend Dodgson’s floating chapel at Preston Brook. Audio programs include readings from Lewis Carroll’s works by the famous performer’s Ken Dodd and Dillie Keane.
