The Galeón Andalucía has made a dramatic entrance to Liverpool today and will be docked at Royal Albert Dock until 5 October. 😍

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore its decks and learn about the history of these legendary Spanish ships. ⚓️

The Galeón Andalucía is a unique replica of the Spanish galleons that departed from the Andalusian coasts and, between the 16th and 18th centuries, sailed the Atlantic, navigated the Caribbean and American coasts, and covered the vast Pacific route, connecting and communicating the world. It is an impressive 55-meter-long ship with six decks, made from iroko and pine wood, and nearly 1,000 square meters of sail area across its seven sails.

From September 25 to October 5, you can explore its five decks and learn about its details, navigation, the daily life of its crew, and its own unique story. The experience is enriched by boarding a ship that still sails the world’s
seas with a young crew who share astonishing tales from their long voyages. 🌊

It has become a city region icon, and you can’t miss it when driving on the M62. Here are five things you might not know about The Dream in St Helens.

▪️Created by Catalan sculptor Jaume Plensa, The Dream was developed in collaboration with a focus group of local ex-miners and St Helens Council and unveiled in Summer 2009.

▪️It’s situated on the site of the former Sutton Manor Colliery spoil tip, which is now part of Bold Forest Park (also known as Sutton Manor Community Woodland)

▪️It is situated midway between Liverpool and Manchester, just south of Junction 7 on the M62 motorway.

▪️The Dream is a 20-meter-tall sculpture depicting a young girl lying down with her head resting on her hand, symbolizing hope and dreams.

▪️The sculpture represents the region’s industrial heritage and transformation, serving as a reminder of the area’s mining history while also looking towards the future.

Queen Mary 2 has officially arrived in Liverpool! 🤩

Cunard flagship Queen Mary 2 arrived at Liverpool Cruise Port last night to begin a two-night stay in the city as part of a British Isles Voyage.

The ship has returned to Cunard’s spiritual home on the Mersey to mark the 185th anniversary of Cunard’s first transatlantic sailing departing Liverpool in 1840.
