Father John Misty’s sixth album Mahashmashana is released today accompanied by rave reviews across-the-board. Produced by Josh Tillman and Drew Erickson; executive produced by Jonathan Wilson, the album features eight songs across 50 minutes and includes the singles “I Guess Time Just Makes Fools Of Us All”, “Screamland” and “She Cleans Up”. To celebrate the release of the album Father John Misty has shared a video for album highlight “Josh Tillman and The Accidental Dose”.
Father John Misty’s previous album was the universally acclaimed Chloë and The Next 20th Century which entered the UK album chart at Number 2 back in April 2022. “Stunningly melodic” said The Guardian, making it their Album of the Week, while Uncut hailed it as “another multi-faceted triumph” in an 8/10 lead review. Father John Misty went on to play a sold-out show at Hammersmith Apollo in early 2023 before returning just a couple of months later to perform the songs of Scott Walker at the Barbican accompanied by Jules Buckley and the BBC Symphony Orchestra. During the Summer he returned to London to perform in Hyde Park as special guest to Lana Del Ray.
