The Mid-Autumn Festival, known as Zhongqiu Jie, goes by several names, including Moon Festival and Mooncake Festival. It ranks among the most cherished festivals in China, second only to Chinese New Year. It is also celebrated in various Asian countries, cities, and regions, including Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines. This occasion is a time for gratitude for the harvest and for ushering in the harvest-giving light in the year ahead.
The festivities will take place on the Saturday, running from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Big Help Project extends a warm invitation to anyone interested in celebrating, participating, and learning about the rich cultural traditions associated with the Mid-Autumn Festival.
The event promises a delightful array of offerings, including a diverse selection of food – including traditional Moon Cakes – and beverages. Attendees can also look forward to engaging activities such as a mesmerizing martial arts demonstration, an orchestra performance, and the traditional Hung Gar, as well as a whole host of workshops throughout the day.
