With just five days remaining, the stage is nearly set for the arrival of OUTER WAVES—Liverpool’s newest and most daring alternative music and arts festival. Taking place 24–25 May 2025, this debut edition promises an electrifying weekend of sonic exploration at Invisible Wind Factory and Make Liverpool.

Saturday sees the hypnotic minimalism of Ex-Easter Island Head take centre stage, while Sunday closes with a mind-expanding headline performance from the legendary GONG. They’re joined by a compelling array of experimental artists including Mandy Indiana, AJA Ireland, Abstract Concrete, Hyperdawn, and Smote—alongside some of the most exciting and boundary-pushing acts from Liverpool’s vibrant underground.

The festival’s commitment to local talent is central to its vision, with appearances from Silverwingkiller, A Lesser Version, Coughin Vicars, Those Holy, Transmission Towers, and more.

As day transitions into night, DJ collectives Strike a Pose and Queensway will take the reins, curating immersive club experiences that channel the spirit of resistance and release.

The visual arts programme is equally ambitious, with exhibitions and installations from ASIMETRIA, Kromavision, Sam Wiehl, Onomataposter, and The Wandering Library—bringing together experimental print, immersive visuals and subcultural design.
