During the 90s Oakey didn’t just play records at Cream to thousands of wide-eyed acolytes; he defined a sound, an era and a movement. He was the DJ of the Superclub era, at the club of the superclub era, playing every week in the city of the superclub era.

And in 2023, he’s back in Liverpool.

Every set Oakenfold has played since that halcyon period hasn’t forgotten that moment in time. The icon knows only too well that Liverpool demands to revisit the timeless records he broke over weeks and months during the mid-nineties. An inescapable legacy continued in a fresh new clubbing space, the regal surroundings of Grand Central hosting him for the first time.
