VIDEO: Comic Con takes over Exhibition Centre Liverpool

If you’ve been anywhere near the Albert Dock this weekend you may have bumped into a load of guys in tights, but this is no stag party……this is MCM COMIC CON Liverpool!

The Exhibition Centre was awash with guys, girls and kids in some of the best cosplay costumes the city has ever seen and tickets for Saturday were sold out long before the exhibitions doors were flung open and the gaming began.

Within seconds the exhibition halls were bursting with fans hoping to see their fave comic book legends and the Liverpool line-up was pretty impressive.

The Bionic Woman, Lindsay Wagner held a Q&A with fans of her 70’s sci-fi series alongside Hannah Spearritt of Primeval and former S Club 7 singer who still doesn’t look a day over 18!

Red Dwarf legends, Robert Llewellyn and Danny John-Jules were also milling around and spent ages signing autographs and generally just chatting with fans.

Some serious gaming took place too, a winner-stays-on Street Fighter competition to win all kinds of awesome tech, kicked off early on Saturday morning and there seemed to be a never ending stream of competitors ready to harness their inner Ryu or Chun-Li.

For those seeking a more laid back experience, the Universal film preview lounge played a constant stream of upcoming movie releases and 2016 looks epic! Not every day you see Deadpool, Batman and Thor taking time out to drool over Charlize Theron in The Huntsman: Winter’s War.

Comic Village was absolutely jam-packed with super talented artists from around the country selling original artwork, comics and accessories (we bought at least 25 pin badges) and even giving away freebies to the kids. Talented and lovely!

The Exhibition Centre was the perfect venue to host MCM Comic Con. Tonnes of exhibition space, seating areas, places to eat and all-important cloakrooms for when your Storm Trooper armour gets a bit much!

With our merchandise packed into three big bags we wandered back across the Albert Dock quoting classic Ghostbusters lines with Harley Quinn and Jon Snow!

A brilliant day out for all ages, can’t wait for next year!
