WITH so many theatres and concert venues, you can often find yourself heading along the M62 to Manchester.

And you don’t have to start heading home the minute you’ve given a standing ovation or your final round of applause.

There’s a brand-new hotel that’ll offer you every reason to extend your stay in the city (and you might just end up giving it an even bigger cheer than you did your favourite band).

Treehouse Manchester is only the third of a fab and fun concept – the other two are in London and Silicon Valley in the US – with the hotel and rooms based on a treehouse theme so that with cosy and colourful patchwork quilts, rustic wooden furniture and fantastic views above the city it feels like you’re staying in your very own hideout among the branches.

Owners Starwood have, though, created a bright and quirky space with a lot of wood, much repurposed and re-used from its previous incarnation, and embraced loads of amazing ideas from around the city to make sure it’s secure in its sustainability boasts.

Rebecca Severs, director of marketing for Treehouse Manchester, says:

“Our whole ethos is built around sustainability and embedding into the city we are in.”

Its restaurant Pip with celebrated partner chef Mary-Ellen McTague at the helm, embodies her diverse culinary experience and dedication to quality dining while using seasonal and local produce, and low-waste cooking.

“We partner with a liqueur company called Mouse Kingdom, which has a tiny distillery in Ancoats and goes around bars and restaurants like ours collecting by-products and turning them into liqueurs. So every Friday Fleix who is the creator of the brand comes round and collects things like onion peelings and things like that and it’s fermented down and returned to us as a liqueur.”

And Treehouse isn’t just for those who choose to stay.

Rebecca adds:

“We have a lot of exciting programmes and events on, so there’s always something going on in the restaurant or the lobby – much unticketed and free to go to – and that’s a really big part of Treehouse.”

Events include brunches and dog walks, wine pairing evenings and just so more.

Located in Blackfriars Street in Manchester city centre, Treehouse isn’t far from all the major theatres or venues like Coop Live which recently hosted Lady Gaga, and the A0 Arena is just a seven-minute walk away.
