The first show of 2019 at Liverpool’s Royal Court is a heart-warming new comedy written by Gerry Linford the man behind ‘The Miracle Of Great Homer Street’.
Jay joins the cast of Yellow Breck Road on stage at Royal Court Liverpool – Gemma Brodrick and Jake Abraham. Watch above for the full chat.
Yellow Breck Road begins in Anfield with a family who have been struggling to make ends. After a freak accident their daughter ends up on the moon, where she gets a whole new perspective on family life…
The cast is confirmed as Jake Abraham (Mam I’m Ere), Gemma Brodrick (Cilla The Musical), Eithne Browne (Brick Up The Mersey Tunnels), PauL Duckworth (The Scouse Cinderella),Lynn Francis (The Royal) and Jamie Greer (Little Boy Blue).
The Potters have always been happy in their Anfield home, times may have been tough but they can rely on each other. Dot’s turned 21 now and she wants more. Her mates are off to Ibiza but she needs to stay at home to look after her foul-mouthed nan. It’s just not fair!
As night falls beneath a magical full moon her world is turned upside down when a bump to the head sends her spinning away through time and space. She lands on the moon where she meets a host of familiar looking characters, including barmy Uncle Barry and the slimy sod who wants to sell their house from under them.
Will she learn her lesson? There’s one thing for certain – there’s no place like home.
Kevin Fearon, The Executive Producer at Liverpool’s Royal Court, is looking forward to seeing the new show: “We really enjoyed working with Gerry on The Miracle Of Great Homer Street last year and when we started talking about Yellow Breck Road he was the first choice to write it. He has a gift for capturing family life no matter what the setting so I think that the audience will enjoy this one!”
Tickets are available from £14 and the show is suitable for 14+ as it contains some strong language.
Yellow Breck Road will run from Friday 1 February to Saturday 2 March 2019. Tickets and information are available from www.royalcourtliverpool.com or on 0151 709 4321.
