Advertorial
Summerâs the perfect time to get out and explore the sights in Liverpool and now itâs never been easier to âUnlock the Cityâ and have fun while youâre doing itâŠon a Voi e-scooter!
And you wonât have the hassle of being stuck in traffic or having to find and pay for a parking space when you get to where youâre going.
Liverpoolâs got so many amazing attractions worth a visit so why limit yourself to seeing just one? Jump on a Voi e-scooter and you can enjoy more.
Weâve put together a guide to âUnlock the Cityâ with Voi and give you some ideas, but donât forget to check out the guidelines first to make sure you ride safely.
Downloading the Voi app and registering will get you started and help you locate a scooter thatâs ready to ride. If itâs your first time, or youâre just getting used to the scooters, donât worry â you can always activate âBeginnerâs Modeâ so you can take things slowly. Donât forget youâll need to upload a valid provisional or full driverâs license and payment method to be able to ride!
When you get to where you want to go, just end your ride on the app and park the scooter with care in a designated parking zone and ensure the e-scooter is not blocking the pavement in any way to make the pavement accessible to everyone.
And remember, itâs illegal to ride on pavements, stick to bike lanes or the left side of the road and wear a helmet to stay safe!
Once youâre ready to go, here are five ways to âUnlock the Cityâ this summer âŠ
Â
Liverpool Pier Head and waterfrontÂ
Our waterfront is world famous and however many times you go, you never get tired of that incredible view. Grab a selfie at The Beatles Statue, marvel at The Three Graces and head over to Museum of Liverpool or the Open Eye Gallery. The wide open spaces are ideal for getting about on a Voi and there are lots of green parking areas to drop off or pick up a scooter.
Â
Street art trail and the Baltic Triangle
Street art is popping up all over the city and the Baltic Triangle is home to some amazing ones â if you havenât got a photo with Paul Curtisâs iconic Liver Bird Wings yet, you really should. Â You can call into Baltic Market, Birdies, Content, Camp & Furnace and loads more while youâre there. Remember itâs illegal to drink and ride so get coffee and cake at 92 Degrees instead!
St Georgeâs Quarter
For the culture vultures, St Georgeâs Quarter around St Georgeâs Hall is unbeatable because you have a trio of world-class venues – Liverpool Central Library, World Museum and Walker Art Gallery â all side by side so itâs really simple to just park up and go from one to another. St Georgeâs Quarter has some of the finest architecture in the country and donât miss the Central Library roof terrace.
Â
Bombed Out Church
Right at the top of Bold Street, the Bombed Out Church is the perfect place to take a pit stop, especially if youâre heading to the Georgian Quarter to explore up there. The outdoor Garden Bar & CafĂ© is open until late for drinks and pizza, itâs got beautiful gardens to stroll around and a full calendar of events including open-air theatre and comedy nights.Â
Â
Albert Dock
Royal Albert Dock is the ideal way to wind up your day because it has everything – stunning views, independent shops, Tate Liverpool for art lovers and a huge choice of bars and restaurants to suit everyone. Madre is number one for tacos, Marayâs small plates are a must-try, Lerpwl for fine quality seafood and Italian classics at Gusto to name just a few of our faves. Be aware that the area itself is a no-ride zone so youâll have to park up your Voi e-scooter in a green parking spot and take a short walk to the dock by foot.
