Watch as we take you inside the brand new, Baltic Market
7 years ago
We’ve waited for what feels like weeks for a first glimpse at Liverpool’s first ever street food market and on Friday 30th June 2017, the Baltic Market flung open its doors.
The Baltic Market is a permanent space for independent city businesses to set up shop and sell their wares. It’s not just about street food either, with a whole programme of social events from cult film nights to flea markets, live music and farmers markets, there’s a bite, a drink, a jam and a knick knack for every taste.
The brainchild of Independent Liverpool, Baltic Market is set to become the hottest destination for socialising, proven by the round-the-block queues during the opening weekend. Our own Baltic Market vlog was the most watched video on our site for 24 hours as Liverpool locals clamoured for a look at exactly what was happening at this brand new Cains Brewery venue.
If you’re heading down to the Baltic Market prepare for a real taste of Liverpool as each and every seller brings something different to the mix. With an ever evolving line up of eateries the venue will offer up something new each week. Open from Thursday to Sunday you can check out Italfresh, Slim’s Pork Chop Express, Timmy Tikka and Octopus plus more during opening week, with more traders being announced soon. The Baltic Market will also play host to brilliant socials such as flea market, Hobo Bazaar, and cult film nights, starting strong with The Big Lebowski.
Cains has become a destination in itself as an uprising of coffee shops, bars, shops and of course Ghetto Golf have come together as a kind of village. This regeneration of an iconic old building is exactly what the Liverpool crowd is calling out for and we’ve no doubt the Baltic Market is going to go from strength to strength.
