Liverpool Cathedral is lit up like never before as Space, the Universe and Everything has now launched
The wait is over, you can now experience ‘Space, the Universe and Everything’ at Liverpool Cathedral and you are going to love it!
Families are invited to explore the awe-inspiring wonders of the universe this February half term as a spectacular immersive art experience, known as ‘Space, The Universe and Everything’, transforms the inside of Liverpool Cathedral.
Surrounding visitors with an extraordinary display of lights, projections and sound, as they journey through the vast splendour of Liverpool Cathedral, the breath-taking installation will come to life every evening, after dark, between Friday 18 – Sunday 27 February.
The impressive installation is set to be an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages, with the stunning Gothic architecture of Liverpool Cathedral becoming a canvas for a magnificent son-et-lumière performance, exploring space, time and the universe.
Combining the dazzling projections of sculptor, Peter Walker, with the beautiful atmospheric sounds of composer, David Harper, ‘Space, The Universe and Everything’ is the work of Luxmuralis, the same award-winning artistic collaboration behind Liverpool Cathedral’s acclaimed ‘Angel Wings’ and ‘Peace Doves’.
As Liverpool Cathedral comes alive with light and sound, visitors will have the chance to lose themselves in the wonders of space, as they are transported from the first step on the moon to the edge of the universe and back again, in just one night.
‘Space, The Universe and Everything’ runs from Friday 18 – Sunday 27 February with shows starting every 15 minutes between 6 pm – 8 pm. Tickets for the immersive art experience, which lasts around 40 minutes, must be booked in advance at Ticket Quarter.
