We adore our cocktails in  Liverpool so when we heard the national cocktail fest ‘Cocktails in the City’ was heading here it is safe to say we were buzzing.

Jay met organiser Andrew Scutts to find out all about the one of cocktail extravaganza that is happening this Friday at The Great Baltic Warehouse.

Event goers will be invited to raise a glass to the quality and diversity of Liverpool’s thriving cocktail culture with each bar, hosted by expert bartenders, showcasing signature cocktails designed exclusively for Cocktails in the City.  Cocktail lovers will be invited to discover something different and learn about the art of mixology with hands-on mixing sessions and tasting tables running 45 minute sessions throughout the night.

There will also be delicious street food on offer from vendors such as Slims Pork Chop Express. Alternative entertainment will also be available in the form of London pop-up sensation Pitch Black, where you are invited to try drinks in total darkness, or you can sink a few holes with Ghetto Golf.

Around 900 people are expected to attend the event which costs £12 a ticket and includes a free welcome cocktail on entry. Tabara N’Diaye of Cocktails in the City said:

“We’re celebrating our fifth birthday this year and we’re thrilled to be coming to Liverpool for the first time. Liverpool has a fantastic and diverse number of bars and we can’t wait to celebrate the city’s vibrant cocktail scene. “In the spirit of friendly rivalry, guests will be invited to vote for their favourite bar, so expect to be entertained and educated along the evening by some of the best talent in town.”

The line-up of bars is set to include Furnival’s Well, Red Door and The Alchemist with new names added on a daily basis at
