Watch: Take That’s ‘The Band’ test their fan knowledge at Liverpool Empire
7 years ago
If you were a teen who grew up idolising a boyband, you can’t miss this musical.
The Band is a new musical about what itâs like to grow up with a boyband and it opened at the Liverpool Empire earlier this week, to rave reviews. Telling the story of five 16 year-old friends in 1992, to whom âthe bandâ is everything. 25 years on, we are reunited with the group of friends, now 40-something women, as they try once more to fulfil their dream of meeting their heroes. Starring Wirral born actress, Faye Christall as schoolgirl Rachel, The Band provides the soundtrack to teenage life in the 90’s and every carefully placed set, from Rachel’s poster covered bedroom to the lockers at school and the late night bus, will have you reminiscing about times gone by.
Having seen the opening night performance and sang, danced, laughed and cried in equal measure, our Kate caught up with ‘The Band’, AJ, Curtis, Yazdan, Sario and Nick on stage at the Liverpool Empire for a chat about our fave 90’s boyband and the brilliant scouse audience.
Showing now until Saturday 3rd February 2018, The Band is a truly spectacular show that brings the importance of friendships, life goals, love and of course music, right to the forefront of your mind. Take That fans, 90’s teens and music lovers alike will fall in love with this musical, before the curtain even goes up. Don’t forget to stop by the official merchandise stand during the interval to pick up an official wristband, you’ll get why!
