Wavertree care home receives PPE donation from Taylor Wimpey
Oak Springs Care Home in Wavertree has received vital PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) from Taylor Wimpey North West to aid their efforts during the coronavirus crisis.
To help supplement PPE the care home already had, Oak Springs took a delivery of a number of face visors. This additional PPE provided the care home with the peace of mind that they had reserves should they need them.
In addition to protective equipment, the home also received eight planters to place in the grounds. These were provided ‘part-built’ so the residents could take part in a group activity to build and plant them during lockdown and then watch the flowers grow throughout Summer and Autumn.
As part of its continuing efforts to support the nation’s frontline workers, Taylor Wimpey procured 75,000 face masks, 75,000 aprons and roughly 38,000 pairs of gloves, which are being delivered to 50 care homes across the UK.
Andrea Lyon, manager at Oak Springs Care Home in Wavertree, said:
“As care providers, this is the greatest challenge we have faced in decades and it’s donations such as these that make a huge difference to our ability to deliver quality care whilst keeping staff and residents safe.
“We’d like to thank Taylor Wimpey for their generous support which is hugely appreciated.”
Stuart Craig, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey North West, added: “Our care workers do an amazing job and we want to play our part in supporting them in any way we can.
“From all of us at Taylor Wimpey, thank you to all of the staff in care homes across the North West for the fantastic work you do every single day.”
Taylor Wimpey has been supporting local care homes in and around the North West with PPE donations including Oak Springs and Prince Alfred’s care home in Wavertree during the COVID-19 pandemic.
