We meet the lads cycling from Paris to Liverpool for Team Sefton
7 years ago
502 miles, 4 days and £15k to help local children and their families. These lads are on a mission and The Guide Liverpool is officially backing them as they raise money and awareness for Team Sefton.
T.E.A.M are a not for profit registered charity supporting disabled and disadvantaged children and their families in Sefton. For almost a decade they have helped many families secure the life changing equipment and on-going care required such as sensory rooms for kids with severe autism, specialised helmets for babies with SOTOS syndrome, eye gaze machines, specially adapted tricycles and much more.
They also offer a respite break to around 80 different families a year in the Sefton area at a static caravan at Talacre Beach Resort, North Wales. The caravan was purchased and continues to be maintained through fundraising campaigns.
T.E.A.M were also responsible for renovating the Plaza Community Cinema back in 2014. Over £85,000 of materials and labour were sourced and work was completed in 4 continuous days and nights along with the help of Plaza volunteers. You can watch more on the cinemas transformation here.
In July 2018, 4 members of T.E.A.M along with 13 other amateur cyclists will be cycling 502 miles from Paris to Liverpool in just 4 days to raise £15,000 for the charity. The money will go towards equipment for disabled children as well as a bigger and better adapted caravan at the resort that can cater for all needs.
4 days averaging over 100 miles a day is without doubt a big ask for even semi pros. Training is already well under way for all 17 cyclists who need your support. They are already being backed by many North West businesses such as Formby Cycles, SES, Total Fitness, Pax Amour and the Tree House as well as many people across the community.
