What gigs are on this June in Liverpool?

Festival season is in full swing with Threshold Festival and Sound City kicking things off in the last couple of months in true Scouse style.
The festival fever continues into the first month of the summer, with not 1, not 2, but 3 festivals around the city this June. As well as, of course, a whole host of gigs to get down to!
1st June – 2nd June – Baltic Weekender, The Baltic Triangle
It doesn’t take long for the festivals to get going this June, with the opening day kicking off a weekend of EDM fun! The Baltic Weekender brings some of the best DJs and Producers to the Baltic Triangle to make the area come alive with the good stuff, once again. Featuring top spinsters such as Kenny Dope, Mike Skinner, Wookie and No Fakin, this weekend will be the perfect blend of chilled beats and EDM bangers. Tickets are selling fast, so get yours here.
4th June – The Shires, The Philharmonic Hall
If DJs and beats aren’t really your thing, then maybe this one is for you. The biggest selling UK country act of all time, The Shires, are hitting the road this summer with brand new music from their highly anticipated third album Accidentally on Purpose, recorded in the home of country, Nashville, Tennessee. This male/female duo are a force to be reckoned with when they take to the stage, blending luscious harmonies with an instantly charming Country…well…charm! Get your tickets now.
8th June – Blossoms, Invisible Wind Factory
We’ve obviously got a soft spot for Indie Rockers, Blossoms, as we’ve welcomed them into the city on numerous occasions, each better than the last (and the last was pretty damn good). We love our Indie-Rock and Pop here on Merseyside and Blossoms deliver a good, old fashioned version of the stuff. Taking to the Invisible Wind Factory stage, tickets are flying out the door, with many sites already sold out, so make sure that you get yours before they all go for good!
8th – 9th June – Positive Vibrations Festival, The Baltic Triangle
Festival number 2, and one hell of a different vibe. Positive Vibrations Festival of Reggae has been nominated for, and won, many awards, including Best New Festival. Changing location from previous years, the festival takes to the streets and venues of the Baltic Triangle with huge artists such as Lee “Scratch” Perry, Sister Nancy and Mungo’s Hi Fi. This years festival also includes an art exhibition called The Art Of Reggae, prior to the festival itself, which is well worth checking out and all for a good cause. Tickets available here.
10th June – Chas & Dave, , Liverpool Empire
The first of our comedy music duos, Chas & Dave, come to the Liverpool Empire this month with their own brand of Rock/Pop which has been coined for the pair as “Rockney” (Cockney Rock). Keeping things fresh, whilst not betraying the classics, this is going to a nostalgia trip of the comical kind. No matter how tongue in cheek the whole thing gets, you’ll find yourself humming every hook on your way home, that’s for sure. Snap up your tickets here.
13th June – Louis Berry , District
After a scene stealing appearance at LIMF 2017, Louis Berry returns with a headline show at District. Berry has become a regular on national radio as well as the UK and European touring circuit. As his Indie/Brit-Pop sound develops, his roots stay the same, proven in a recent Instagram post where he proclaims that Rock n Roll is coming home!
This one is selling ridiculously quickly, so what are you doing? Stop reading this and get them now!
15th June – Craig David, Aintree Racecourse
Craig David has had one hell of a renascence in recent years, bringing 90s Garage back to the charts. This summer he brings it to Merseyside as part of the brilliant summer series of open air concerts at Aintree Racecourse. We can’t think of a better way to spend a summers day/evening than at one of the most glamorous sites in the region, belting out 7 Days at full whack. Grab the drinks and the the tickets here.
22nd & 23rd June – Liverpool Calling, City Centre + Baltic Triangle
Another festival?! That’s right, another festival. The 3rd of the month is grassroots metropolitan music festival, Liverpool Calling, taking place throughout venues in the City Centre and, of course, the Baltic Triangle. Pulled Apart By Horses headline the event which tells ya exactly what to expect from the rest of the line up which also includes likes of the, The Wytches. Pulled Apart By Horses tore Liverpool a new a***hole back when they headlines FestEvol in 2017, and they’re sure to do it once again this June.
The tickets are calling you here.
There we have it, another month of variety and quality in the Liverpool local music scene.
We have no shortage of music festivals at this time of year with a host of stand alone gigs to blow your socks off!
