Welcome to this weeks Liverpool Sports Guide! With the cold weather coming in, we thought we would give you the heads up about local winter sports you can take part in. Along with the usual football previews, of course. Be sure to wrap up, as things are getting chilly!
What’s going on?
Middlesbrough FC vs Liverpool FC, Wednesday 14th December 2016, KO 19:45, Premier League.
The Reds face a trip to the North East this coming Wednesday night, sure to be a chilly one. Jurgen’s reds will be hoping to re-take the number 1 position in the league table over Christmas and a victory over Boro will give them some wind going into the Derby on the 18th .
Everton FC vs Arsenal FC, Tuesday 13th December 2016, KO 19:45, Premier League.
Ronald Koeman’s men host Arsenal on Tuesday night. They will be hoping to bounce back from a disappointing 3-2 ldefeat to Watford at Vicarage Road which saw them drop to 9th in the league table. Everton’s squad consists of some of the finest talent in the country, so no doubt Koeman will be feeling the pressure to get them playing the way they should be.
Ice Rink Pier Head
This year, Liverpool’s annual pop up ice rink has arrived at the Pier Head.
Open from 11am daily, this year the ice rink arrived on 11th November and will be running until 3rd January. Why not head down mid-shopping spree one day this week and give it a go!
Runcorn Snow-sports Centre
Runcorn’s Snow-sport centre is the place to go if you want to give the winter sports a go, without getting wet. Offering Skiing, Snowboarding and Tubing classes on a massive dry slope, its a great way to have good, clean, safe fun with all the family. For more details check out the website here www.runcornski.weebly.com
Goals Speke
If, like me, you love playing footy but find it hard getting a team together or finding one local to you, why not try Goals in Speke. The purpose built facility means you can create your team, and participate in a moderated league against other sides of the same numbers. The floodlights and referees mean that each game is fair, and after the game is over you can chill out in the Cafe and watch a bit of live football. Not bad eh? Check out their website for full details www.goalsfootball.co.uk/
Stars of the Week
City of Liverpool FC returned to the top of the Hallmark Security First Division this week following a 6-1 smashing of Holker. Big well done to the Purps, thoroughly deserved for all the hard work that has gone into the club since it was founded.
