The 75th anniversary of VE Day brings Bank Holiday highs of 21ºc across Friday and Saturday, and while skies are blue our fellow Scousers are doing everything they can to keep you smiling. Tuck into 4-days of fundraising festivals and superb family events – all live, all weekend long from Liverpool.

Get involved in Liverpool VE Day 75 online
Celebrate VE Day with fun family activities from Culture Liverpool, rare archives from the city courtesy of National Museums Liverpool, creative fun and TV specials to make it a day to remember!
Liverpool Cathedral: VE Day Commemoration Service, 10.30am
Join this commemorative service of the 75th anniversary of VE Day led by The Dean of Liverpool, The Very Reverend Dr Sue Jones with Liverpool Cathedral Choir.
FACE Virtual Festival, 2pm
Join DJs including Lee Butler, Mick Willow, John Kelly, Billie Clements, Paige Tomlinson and Dave Graham plus many more name and special guests ’til 10pm! All proceeds donated to our incredible NHS staff. Boss.
Writing on the Wall Festival
WOW turns 20 with an incredible list of guests including Irvine Welsh; columnist, Brian Reade; comedian, Rosie Jones, DJ Stuart Maconie, drag artist Glamrou; children’s story-teller, Jude Lennon; renowned urban Griot, Levi Tafari, and former Labour leader, Jeremy Corbyn.
Heebie Jeebies Lockdown Festival, 7.30pm
This legendary Liverpool club has served us all a bevvie and a brilliant night over the years, and now Heebies needs your support to stay open. Join a superb line-up for live sets raising money to save this boss bar.
Mersey Ferries: Callum Mac live, 8pm
Local lad Callum Mac brings us an hour and a half of the biggest hits from Mersey Ferry Evening Cruises, raising money for LCRCares here during the gig, to help to support our community and voluntary organisations working on the frontline to cope with the impact of Coronavirus.
