What’s on in Liverpool? Here’s 5 things to suit everyone this August

August in Liverpool is shaping up to be pretty epic and whether you’re looking for some festival fun, live music, nightlife or days out with the kids, we’ve got you covered.

It’s officially summer (someone want to tell the weather?!) and we’re all about good times and making memories. With plenty of fun to be had right across the region, we’ve lined up the best of what’s on in Liverpool right here, in one handy guide.

Here’s 5 things to suit everyone this August in Liverpool….

With the kids

1 – A city celebration for all the family at Liverpool Loves

Liverpool Loves returns, bigger and better and with a brand new home on August 5th-6th with a huge family, well being and music offering. Best bit is, it’s totally free.

2 – Fun in the park at Kidsfest, Stanley Park

From baby raves to bouncy castle world and sing-alongs, Stanley Park is the place to be on 30th August as KidsFest kicks off a whole day of free, family fun.

3 – Kick about on the waterfront with Football on the Dock, Albert Dock

Are your little ones footy mad? Head down to Mermaid Court at Albert Dock for a free 20 minute coaching session with staff from both Everton in the Community and the LFC Foundation.

4 – Scream if you want to go faster at Pier Head Village

Brave enough to take on the three thrill rides at Pier Head Festival? Nope, us neither, but watching others having a go while munching on ice creams, riding the (less scary) fair ground rides and having a kick about on the waterfront is what summers are made of!

5 – K9 frolics at Paw Patrol Live!, Echo Arena

PAW Patrol Live! brings everybody’s favourite pups to the stage for an action-packed, high-energy, musical adventure on 16-17th August. Treat your toddlers and stop by Albert Dock for a bite to eat afterwards. Tickets here.

With your other half

1 – Wander hand in hand at Folk on the Dock, Albert Dock

We love a nice wander hand in hand around Albert Dock when there’s a festival on and August has plenty of free entertainment on offer. Folk on the Dock returns with a jam-packed line up of live music and tasty food and drink.

2 – Raise a glass at the Bombed Out Church Beer & Cider Festival

Treat your better half to a few scoops in a totally unique venue as the Bombed Out Church (St Lukes) Beer and Cider Festival takes place on 3-6th August. Cheers to that! Click here for tickets and info.

3 – Dine under the stars at Allerton Manor, Old Stables Restaurant

One of our absolute fave date destinations has to be Old Stables at Allerton Manor. Grab a light lunch or dine under the stars on the outdoor terrace and tuck into classic British dishes with your loved one. Menus and more here.

4 – Get a taste of Liverpool at Baltic Market, Cains Brewery

Having opened just a matter of weeks ago, Baltic Market is going from strength to strength with its independent food offering, cool drinks, market events and more. Pull up a pew and get a taste for Liverpool. Info and opening hours here.

5 – Glam up for the Prosecco Festival, Camp & Furnace

Whether he’s buying or she is, Liverpool’s love for prosecco knows no boundaries and we reckon Camp & Furnace will be a total lock out when the Prosecco Festival hits on bank holiday weekend. Earn some brownie points and get your tickets here.

On your tod

1 – Find your inner peace at White Wolf Yoga, Cook Street

Treat yourself to a bit of me time and learn something new this summer with White Wolf Yoga & Kitchen. With multiple classes available 7 days a week, there’s a bit of zen for everyone. Beginners welcome. Find out more here.

2 – Broaden your horizons with a local culture fix

There’s a tonne of culture just waiting to be discovered in Liverpool this summer, why not take a look around Bluecoat, Open Eye Gallery, Museum of Liverpool and Walker Art Gallery for a brand new perspective on art. More info here.

3 – Take 5 at Leaf on Bold Street

Grab a copy of Vogue, GQ, Viz…whatever, order a speciality tea and park yourself in the window seat of Leaf on Bold Street for an hours peace and quiet or people watching. Alternatively you can check out the entertainment line up here.

4 – Feel the wind in your hair on a Citybike

If coffee shops aren’t your bag, why not set the wheels in motion and explore the region and our world class waterfront with a city bike. The freedom of the open road (or path) awaits. Info and bike docking stations here.

5 – De-stress at Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa

Have you seen the new Formby Hall? There’s absolutely no reason to not book yourself in for a pre-holiday pamper, massage or chill by the pool at this stunning venue, that’s less than 40 mins drive from the city centre. More info and treatments here.

With your mates

1 – Be crowned the King or Queen of Springfield at Camp & Furnace

Alright Eggheads, get your mates together and prove who was the ultimate 90’s kid at The Simpsons Quiz on 30th August at Camp & Furnace. We always wanted to know what flashes up on the till as Maggie is scanned during the opening credits?! Tickets and info here.

2 – Shake, rattle and stir at Revolucion De Cuba

The Albert Dock - The Guide Liverpool

Not going abroad this summer? Pah, who needs all the hassle of flying when you can get a taste of the Bahamas right here in Liverpool. Become a cocktail making legend with a Cuban Cocktail Masterclass, now available for smaller groups and couples. Beaded bikini and feather headdresses are optional. More info here.

3 – An unforgettable club night at Kingdom Presents Alison Limerick

Bank Holiday weekends are always memorable and this August Kingdom, Harrington Street have got the club night out of your dreams all sorted. None other than Alison Limerick will be performing ‘Where Love Lives’ and more. Click here for tickets.

4 – Liverpool Loves a quality live gig!

There’s a knock out line up of live music at Liverpool Loves, Derby Square this August, so much so that the free festival gets a second mention in our summer line up! Mates, bevs, sun (we hope) and the likes of Halem, Natalie McCool, Edgar Jones and Boston Shakers. Boss! More info here.
