It might be January but itâs nearly the end of the month, the snow has melted and the days are starting to get a tiny bit longer. Some of us even get paid this weekend.

Lord Streetâs Bold Hotel has undergone an extensive refurbishment for 2024 and the restaurant with new menu will be open from Friday, 26th January.
Not only that the hotel has a number of events to celebrate the end of the January, kicking off with a weekend of tribute nights starting with the music of the Blues Brothers this Friday and a George Michael tribute on Saturday. Both events feature a three-course gala dinner and cost ÂŁ40 per person.

Two for one afternoon tea at The Vincent
Every day between 3pm and 6pm, at The Vincent hotel in Lord Street, you can enjoy a classic afternoon tea of mini sandwiches, scones, and homemade cakes.
Add a glass of fizz to make it a truly decadent day out. Classic afternoon tea is ÂŁ24, itâs ÂŁ29 if you add Prosecco and ÂŁ36 with a glass of champagne.

Comedy Bingo, Southport Market, 26th January
Have a laugh, win some prizes and raise money for charity at this bingo night hosted by comedian Bren Riley.
The fun starts at 7pm at the King Street venue and your ticket include 10 bingo games.
This will be a great way to spend an evening laughing your socks off with the amazing Bren, star of the Southport Comedy Show.

Adele tribute night, Southport Market, 3rd February
Head along to Southport Market for an evening of music celebrating the incredible talent of Adele.
The brilliant Via Grace will be bringing you all the biggest and best songs from one of the UKâs biggest talents of recent years on a night to remember from 7pm.
Support comes from Matilda Bailey and entry is free but booking is recommended.

The Southport Jazz Festival, 2nd â 4th February, The Grand
Some of the best names in UK jazz head to Southport for a weekend of music to kick off February.
The festival has a perfect new home at the sumptuous surroundings of The Grand in Lord Street, with its sister venues The Bold, Punch Tarmeyâs and the Lord Street Hotel offering discounted food and drinks for attendees over the weekend, as well as discounted hotel rooms.
So, whether you want to be entertained by a trio or a big band, there is something for all jazz fans at this brilliant event. And if you have never experienced jazz before, then now is your chance.

Enjoy a flick at Southportâ Bijou Cinema
Showing classics, hosting film talks, dementia friendly and parent and baby screenings, the Bijou Cinema really is a hidden gem.
Over the next few weeks, you can catch My Fair Lady on the big screen, which is a really treat, and other favourites like Barbie, Layer Cake, Casino, Jurassic Park and Casablanca to name just a few.
The cinema is tucked away in Post Office Avenue, just off Lord Street and was the winner of the Liverpool City Regionâs Best Hidden Gem category at Liverpoolâs 2022 Tourism Awards. Go along and find out why.

Run the Mad Dog 10K, 4th February
Whether itâs a new year resolution, or youâre a regular runner, the Mad Dog 10K is a great experience.
The event has been created to provide runners of all experiences with an unforgettable day along the shores of Southport. There are live bands and a fancy dress competition as well as a Crazy Pups race dedicated to under 16s.
The pups go off at 10am with the main race starting at 10.40am.
