Where to go for drinks as part of your new Everton matchday routine

With the first full capacity match happening at Everton’s new stadium this Saturday, against Italian giants AS Roma, it’s definitely time to start getting matchday plans sorted for the new season.

The new waterfront home means new rituals for Blues fans and that includes scoping out the best places for getting drinks in before and after games.

If you’ve still not settled on a favourite, here’s our guide to where to go for drinks as part of your new Everton matchday routine …

Ma Boyles

The new Hill Dickinson stadium is easily walkable from the city centre if you don’t fancy getting a train to Sandhills and Ma’s – right next to St Nick’s Gardens – is a great spot for a pre or post-match pint. There’s always a decent choice of beers on tap including a few local ones, and you could tuck in to scouse too.

Malmaison

If you’re heading from the city centre to Bramley Moore and back, the Mal is right on your waterfront route so it couldn’t be handier for a drinks stop-off. Head inside to the Chez Mal bar, or grab a seat on the outdoor terrace and make it a nice relaxing start in the sun before any match nerves kick in.

Ten Streets Social

Ten Streets Social is only 100ft away from the new stadium – stand outside, look right and you can’t miss it! Ready for the start of the 25/26 season, it’s created a brand new indoor fan park with loads of bench seating and a massive screen so it’s all set to be a go-to Blues before and after the match.

From up on the rooftop of Blackstock Market you get a bird’s eye view of Bramley Moore so it’s no surprise that it’s gearing up for a busy first season. There are 20+ screens all around the venue, four bars to keep the queues down and an indoor food market where it’s family-friendly until 10pm.

The Bramley Moore

When the pub shares its name with the stadium location, you can’t really go wrong. The Bramley Moore (which is even older than Everton!) is literally right opposite the ground, it’s got a fresh blue and white paint job, brilliant atmosphere and it’s already become an early favourite with travelling Toffees.

The original Goodison pubs

Just because the games have moved, doesn’t mean the old rituals have gone for good. Pubs around Goodison are still likely to be packed out with fans on matchdays and there’ll be special buses to and from the new stadium laid on by some including the iconic Winslow by the old main stand.

The Three Graces

It might have been Red in the past, but not anymore. The Three Graces, on the corner of the Strand and Brunswick Street, is now an all-round footy fan favourite. It shows live sports on the big screen and being right on the waterfront means it’s not far to walk to the new stadium if you’ve got tickets.

Sometimes you’ve just got to get an early start, we’re not judging, and The Denbigh on Hackins Hey is open for pre-match bevs from 10am. It’s a big Blues pub – all the memorabilia is a dead giveaway and they’ve even got the signed ball from the last Goodison game – so it’s like a second home for fans.
