As autumn draws in, there are some big changes underway at Marco Pierre White’s Wheeler’s of St. James’s restaurant.
The waterfront restaurant, on Kings Dock, is setting the standards high for Liverpool’s food and drink scene this October and its brand new menu is here to save you from those end of summer blues. The leaves aren’t the only thing changing this season, as the restaurant has also launched its new afternoon tea menu and lunch menus with some delicious deals for guests.
So this autumn, don’t fear saying goodbye to the blue skies. Wheeler’s mouth-watering menu and special offers are here to warm your heart in ways your jumper can’t.
Here’s 7 reasons why Wheeler’s of St. James’s is the perfect autumn dining destination….
1 – Lunch is our favourite time of the day
Looking for a quick lunch packed with flavour? Wheeler’s brand new lunch menu is offering three small plates for only £10! With menu options such as warm baked sourdough with Gloucester butter, tempura king prawns and sea seared scallops with black pudding, Wheeler’s versatile menu is on hand to make sure that your lunch hour is your best hour.
2 – Afternoon Tea with a spectacular view
A brand new addition to Wheeler’s of St. James’s menu this autumn; the classic British afternoon tea. A plush mix of finger sandwiches, cakes and scones, accompanied with a blend of breakfast tea and herbal infusions. If you want to add a touch of glamour to your afternoon tea, you can wash it all down with a glass of the timeless Veuve Clicquot champagne.
3 – Delicious Dining Deals
To brighten up those winter blues, Wheeler’s is now offering two courses and a glass of wine for just £20, between 5-7pm every day of the week.
Following a popular summer launch, Marco is also extending his kids eat free offer to continue throughout the year. The celebrated chef is treating kids to a free meal on him when an adult purchases a main from the à la carte menu. This offer is valid for children under 12 and includes a main and soft drink from the kids menu.
Monday means steak night at Wheeler’s of St James’s. The restaurant has introduced its new steak night offer which includes a delicious steak served with chips and a glass of wine, all for just £19.95.
4 – A Little of what you like
The perfect way to begin your culinary experience, Wheeler’s hors d’oeuvres menu features a host of delicious starters that will leave you spoilt for choice. Timeless sea food dishes such as a Wheeler’s crab cocktail with avocado, properly garnished smoked salmon served with crusty bread and crispy calamari are just some of the delicacies that decorate the new menu.
5 – The Wheeler’s Classics
True to his unique flair, Marco has penned a Wheeler’s classics menu which showcases his renowned twists on some of our favourite English dishes. The Governor’s fish and chips, Wheeler’s fish cake with poached hen’s egg, Mr Lamb’s shepherd’s pie with buttered garden peas and Wiltshire ham with homemade piccalilli, duck egg and triple cooked chips are some of the ultimate comfort food pleasers that feature on his menu.
6 – Decadent Desserts
Freshly baked crumble with ice cream, Wheeler’s poached pear with vanilla cream and passion fruit sauce and a hazelnut praline and Mr White’s indulgent tiramisu all feature on Wheeler’s decadent dessert menu.
Rich in both flavour and history, Wheeler’s Cambridge burnt cream is an English equivalent to crème brûlée and is inspired by the original recipe from Trinity College, which dates back to 1630.
Or if you prefer sticking to a savoury treat, Wheeler’s selection of fine cheeses is the perfect way to complete your meal. Enjoy a selection of vintage stilton, mature cheddar and ripe brie – as the great Perry Smith said: ‘you only need three cheeses’.
7 – A stunning location
Cast your eyes over Wheeler’s breath-taking views of Liverpool’s waterfront, including the Albert Dock, the Wheel of Liverpool and the River Mersey, while only being a stone’s throw away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. The restaurant’s sleek interior offers the perfect haven to retreat from those chilly autumn winds and unwind with a delicious meal.
