XF Gyms to launch flagship fitness and wellbeing hub in Liverpool’s St Johns Shopping Centre

One of the UK’s newest and most dynamic fitness and wellness brands, XF Gym, is set to open a cutting-edge 30,000 sq ft facility in the heart of Liverpool city centre.

The new flagship site will occupy a prominent space within the iconic St Johns Shopping Centre, following the signing of a new lease agreement with centre owners RivingtonHark.

Marking a major milestone for the brand, the new XF Gym will deliver a unique blend of world-class training equipment, holistic wellness zones, and a vibrant, inclusive community atmosphere—all within one of Liverpool’s most visited destinations.

Designed to provide a comprehensive and elevated fitness experience, the space will include:

• An expansive open-plan training area
• A dedicated women-only gym zone
• State-of-the-art group exercise studios offering a diverse class timetable, including yoga, HIIT, boxing, dance, and cycling
• Luxury changing facilities for comfort and convenience

The addition of XF Gym signals a new chapter in the ongoing transformation of St Johns Shopping Centre. Formerly home to Wilko, the space will now be reimagined as a thriving health and wellness hub—helping to meet the evolving needs of city centre residents, workers, and visitors.

With more than one million visitors each month, St Johns is a cornerstone of Liverpool’s retail and leisure offering. Home to a range of national brands such as JD Sports, Aldi, Liverpool FC Store, and Sainsbury’s, as well as a wide selection of food outlets and independent retailers, it remains a key destination for the city.

Ideally located just moments from Lime Street Station—which welcomes nearly 20 million passengers annually—and adjacent to Queen Square Bus Station, the new gym will also benefit from excellent transport links and a 625-space on-site car park, ensuring easy access for members.

Construction on the site is set to begin immediately, with the new XF Gym scheduled to open its doors in autumn 2025.
