Strawberry Field is launching a new membership scheme, just in time for Christmas, with all funds raised going towards funding their Steps to Work programme and keeping the visitor centre open once national lockdown restrictions are lifted.
The iconic red gates of Strawberry Field opened to the public in 2019 for the very first time. The new centre is home to a visitor exhibition, community café, shop, gardens and – at its heart – the ‘Steps to Work’ programme, which continues the legacy of caring for young people in the local community. The Strawberry Field Steps to Work programme reaches out to young adults aged 18-25 with learning difficulties or other barriers to employment through a training hub on the lower ground floor of the new centre, in conjunction with work placements across the city of Liverpool.
Lesley Theadorus, Public Fundraiser at Strawberry Field says:
“Our new and highly anticipated membership scheme will provide visitors the opportunity to become a part of the Strawberry Field family. There are exclusive discounts and perks to enjoy, with the added benefit of knowing that your membership fee is going towards supporting our Steps to Work programme and keeping our gates open for good.”
Major Kathy Versfeld, Mission Director at Strawberry Field says:
“As we try to plot a safe path through this awful pandemic, we are determined to move forward with a renewed commitment to work for the greater good. Now, more than ever, young people with barriers to employment need our support. Now, more than ever, our visitors need a place to stop and reflect and be inspired to dream of better days to come. Here at Strawberry Field as we count our blessings, I want you to know that we include you and thank you for your interest and ongoing support.”
Membership is available in two levels and can be purchased for yourself or as a gift for someone else, with the option to pay annually or monthly.
