You can perform with a live band at Scruffy Murphy’s new ‘Rockeoke’ night

The team behind Scruffy Murphy’s Irish American Bar, which opened earlier this summer on Harrington Street, has introduced a Sunday evening event which is already proving to be a hit with partygoers.
Rockeoke, featuring the hugely popular band Off The Charts, has been attracting people looking for a brilliantly fun and interactive music-centred night out.
Rockeoke is all about a karaoke experience, but with an experienced live band, giving everyone who participates the chance to be a rockstar for the night, whether as a lead singer or as part of a group. Once you are signed up, Off The Charts then use their own karaoke screens synchronised to their click track, to make joining in as easy as possible.
With up to 200 songs to choose from, would-be rock and popstars are spoiled for choice when it comes to heading for the microphone. Scruffy Murphy’s is one of just two venues in the city to host this unique musical experience.
Scruffy Murphy’s has quickly established itself in the city’s leisure and nightlife scene with 17 big screens, regular live bands, live sports coverage, pool tables, retro arcade games and open mic nights, to complement the venue’s impressive and great-value food and drinks menus.
The ultimate meet-up-and-stay place, it has proved to be a popular choice by city residents and visiting tourists alike. It has just introduced its own photo booth so customers can take home a valued memento of their time at Scruffy Murphy’s.
Nicola Leppert, Business Development Manager for AR Leisure explains:
“Every Sunday at Scruffy Murphy’s we host karaoke with a twist, giving aspiring singers the opportunity to sing along with our resident band, Off The Charts. By downloading the ‘What Can I Sing?’ app on your mobile phone, you can view a list of songs which covers everything from Abba to Bon Jovi.
“It’s definitely a must if you enjoy a bit of karaoke, but even if you don’t get up and sing, it’s entertaining to watch and the atmosphere is amazing! It is proving to be a really fun, positive and laidback way to finish the weekend at a venue known for its unpretentious, all-embracing warm welcome.’
