You can spell your way into this comedy night for free

As the Funny Looking Fringe, part of Liverpool Comedy Festival, picks up pace over at 81 Renshaw Street, comedy (and music fans) can look forward to something a bit different on Saturday night and practice their spelling/memory skills while they’re at it.

Rasputin’s Lunchbox, a comedy outfit hailing from London and featuring musicians Simes, Captain Smug and The Gill Frost Orchestra, are giving you the chance to get 2-4-1 tickets on the door of the venue simply by correctly spelling the name of a very famous Hollywood actor.

The Funny Looking Fringe show is the three-piece’s first gig outside of London, having gained a sterling reputation in the capital supporting the likes of Stewart Lee and having famous guests Richard Herring, Kevin Eldon and Simon Munnery perform at their own night Rasputin’s Lunchbox Presents.

Notoriously tricky to pronounce, as well as spell, Rasputin’s Lunchbox want punters to correctly spell the name of A-list actor, brother of Joseph Fiennes and star of The English Patient, Red Dragon and Skyfall. Those who do so correctly can bring a friend to the 7pm show for free!

The Funny Looking Fringe, which is hosting all hour-long comedy shows at art café 81 Renshaw Street, has proved popular with the city’s comedy community. Sold-out shows for local favourites Top Joe and Yolav and Graham and sets from nationally renowned performers including Juliette Burton and Ed Aczel are delighting fans looking for something a bit leftfield.

Rasputin’s Lunchbox present their first hour-long show as part of the festival, Towers Of Rasp will feature the troupe’s regular dose of surreal, sensational and melodic comedy tunes. If you’re lucky you also may catch the funsters busking around town earlier in the day.
