A charity football match will take place this weekend in Liverpool in aid of the Care of Police Survivors and the RNLI.
The friendly match is taking place between NGUP Active Members and Merseyside Police this Saturday 22nd May at Merseyside Police Sports & Social Association, L19 3QN and kick off is 11am. As an ex-forces personal trainer, Grant Williams who is organising the event, knows how important exercise has been for people’s mental health over the last year so wanted to give something back to the local community and with covid restrictions lifting, he thought what better way than to hold a family event all in aid of two great causes.Â
The event is free to attend and the match starts at 11am followed by a paying BBQ provided by The Romans, paying bar, bouncy castle, games for children and a charity raffle with prizes which have all been donated by local businesses including the chance to win a car for the weekend from Hatfields Jaguar Land Rover in Liverpool and a stay at Peckforton Castle with a Land Rover Experience included.
Event organiser, Grant Williams said:
“Now that lockdown is easing and outdoor sport can start up again, we would love to welcome our local community to join in this event, come down and support the teams. I am really grateful for all the local businesses that have donated prizes and hopefully we can raise some lots of money for the Care of Police Survivors and the RNLI.”
The NGUP Active football team is made up of its regular members, one being Head of Business for Hatfields Jaguar Land Rover Liverpool, Neil Keane who said “When I found out about the charity match I knew we had to be involved with this great family event. As a family run business based in Liverpool we know how important supporting the local community is and we’re proud to be the headline sponsor.”
The match is this Saturday 22nd May at Merseyside Police Sports & Social Association, L19 3QN and kicks off at 11am. So come down with the family, show you’re support and hopefully walk away with some fabulous prizes all in aid of two great causes.
