You know Christmas is coming when Liverpool ONE lights up

Liverpool ONE is now well and truly at the heart of all things Christmas in Liverpool, as soon as you see that big beautiful tree lit up you know Santa is on his way.

Ring the bells and deck the halls with holly – and lots more too – as Liverpool ONE prepares to get Christmassy.

From October 24^th, you can expect to see the streets of Liverpool ONE being transformed as preparations begin for the city’s most magical Christmas launch to date.

Christmas officially starts in Liverpool with the illumination of Liverpool ONE’s iconic 30-metre Christmas tree on Thursday November 9^th. The festivities will officially start from 4pm when you can expect to be delighted with wintery street performances and appearances from celebrity pantomime stars.

The impressive Christmas tree, which has become a firm favourite and a must-see attraction on everyone’s Christmas list, will be officially switched on at 6pm – and even Santa Claus is expected to make a special guest appearance.

The show, created by the Liverpool Empire Theatre’s Creative Learning Team will take the audience on a magical Christmas journey complete with storytelling, dancers and plenty of special effects.

Shops, bars and restaurants will all be open until late to ensure the party atmosphere continues well into the evening.

Also available from November 9^th are a range of themed children’s attractions, festive food and drink stalls. Head for the glow of Chavasse Park and soak up the ultimate Christmassy treats, rides and warming tipples.

Bar Hutte, located underneath the Liverpool ONE Christmas tree, makes a return and there will once again be various bookable huttes, ‘carol-oke’ and a menu of yuletide drinks.

For the past few months the team at the Liverpool Empire have been working with choirs from across the region in preparation for the light switch on which is always a firm favourite within the city and certainly not one to miss. Our iconic tree will be at the heart of our celebrations with dazzling light shows and the ultimate selfie opportunities!”

In addition to the exciting Christmas schedule, there is still plenty to see and do at Liverpool ONE in the run up to December 25^th.

The breath-taking launch event marks the start of what is anticipated to be the most exciting Christmas ever at Liverpool ONE. Expect more choirs, entertainment, discover new stores including Nespresso and Guess and not forgetting the latest fashions too!

Visitors are being encouraged to share their experience of the build up to Christmas at Liverpool ONE on social media by using the hashtag #GetChristmassy – and there are prizes up for grabs for the best experiences which are shared.
