Your Going Out Guide for this weekend in Liverpool (30th June – 2nd July)

It’s that time again! Payday weekend in the best city in the world throws up so many brand new ways to blow your wages having fun with your mates.

From brand new events, venues and club nights to great value eats and destination guides, we’ve got your payday weekend all sewn up. Whether you’re getting glammed up for cocktails or you’re after a chilled out brunch, Liverpool is teaming with options.

Here’s our pick of the bunch….

1 – Cocktails in the City, Great Baltic Warehouse

Sixteen of Liverpool’s finest cocktail bars will come together under one roof on Friday 30th June for an evening of cocktails and drinking experiences as Cocktails in the City, the nation’s leading cocktail event, arrives at the Great Baltic Warehouse. Click here for the full line up.

2 – Catfish & The Bottlemen, Echo Arena

Catfish & the Bottlemen play the Echo Arena and are set to deliver an epic set list of songs including smashes from last year’s number one album ‘The Ride’, as well as favourites ‘Cocoon’ and ‘Kathleen’ from their Platinum debut album. Tickets here.

3 – Bubbles at Exchange Flags

This brand new, Exchange Flags pop up bar officially launches on Thursday 29th June – and is open to the public from 7pm-9pm. Guests are invited to come and get a drink, taste some select dishes from the diverse menu and enjoy an evening sound tracked by chilled, soulful music from local DJ Mark Armstrong and saxophonist Karl Max McCabe. 4 – Big Eats at Santa Maluco, Castle Street

The only way to eat pizza is rodizio style at Santa Maluco, Castle Street. Park yourself in a comfy window seat and prepare to taste the rainbow as the lovely staff bring you slice after slice to taste test. Just after a quick bite? 5 – Get Your Quiz on at Sounds Familiar, Camp & Furnace

Roll on from post-work drinks and pitch up for Sounds Familiar on Friday at 7pm. Raucous rounds in this hilarious music quiz include – Summer office party, Decades of the soul weekender, I went on a holiday and all I heard was this sh*t, Here’s a Band I made earlier and Wheel of Forchoon. 6 – The Vryll Society play The Magnet

Locked away in their subterranean rehearsal space for more than a year, The Vryll Society have been creating a complex body of work, to stimulate both the soul and mind. You can check out the results at The Magnet this Friday night as they kick off their summer residency. They’re joined by Wild Fruit Art Collective, Samurai Kip and The Holograms. More info here.

7 – Baltic Market Launch, Cains Brewery

Get yourself down to Cain’s Brewery from 5pm on Friday as the highly anticipated Baltic Market opens it’s doors for the first time. With a wealth of independent city traders offering up all manner of street food, including Timmy Tikka, XXX BBQ and smoked meats from Slim’s Pork Chop Express, wood-fired pizzas from Little Furnace Wood Fired Pizzas and so much more. 8 – Easy Sunday pickings at Constellations

You’re invited to take a mooch around this Sunday’s farmers market at Constellations as LIV Organic relocates from its Bold Street home to bring the very best organic produce to the masses. The Food & Soul Market focusses on mental and physical wellbeing and is a perfect way to spend a lazy Sunday. More info here.

9 – Micky Flannagan, Echo Arena

Comedy in Liverpool

Audiences cant get enough of cockney geezer, Micky’s take on every day life. Having added an extra date to his UK ‘An Another Fing’ tour, We cant wait to be doubled up with laughter at the Echo Arena this Saturday. Tickets here.

10 – Saturday Night glamour at Kingdom, Harrington Street

For an all out glamorous Saturday night out, it has to be the new look Kingdom, Harrington Street. This Moroccan oasis is the nightclub hotspot where sexy booths, waitress service and the best resident DJ’s make you feel every inch of the VIP you are! Find out more here.

11 – Brunch at Moose Coffee, Dale Street

We love a Sunday morning at Moose Coffee, Dale Street. This intimate venue somehow manages to serve up the biggest, fully-loaded American pancakes as well as a host of other phenomenal brunch dishes, and it makes us feel like we’re in downtown New York! 12 – A night in the South Liverpool

Fancy checking out somewhere a bit different this weekend? We recommend a night out in south Liverpool. Get down to Allerton and start off with drinks at The Dovey before walking off your pint as you head down to Maray on Allerton Road for a lush dinner and finish off with a couple of cocktails and a boss atmosphere at Three Piggies.

13 – A taste of Italy……in Wirral at Gusto, Heswall

The thing we love about Gusto is that you can have a great night out in the one place. The dining room and bar are sleek and contemporary, the food is mouth-wateringly good and the cocktail list is comprehensive! What more could you ask for on a Saturday night? 14 – Chilled Beats at Clockworks, Wolstenholme Square

The Guide Liverpool team checked out Clockworks, Wolstenholme Square last weekend and it’s safe to say we’re firm fans after just one visit. The atmosphere is chilled, the beats are American pop, rock with a dash of country thrown in, the food is tasty and plentiful and the outside terrace is perfect for cocktails on summer nights! 15 – Duo-Tone: Electronic, The Buyers Club, Hardman Street

This combination of DJ sets and live music is sure to set The Buyers Club alight on Friday night as Halem, Josh Hunter, Duo-Tone Sound System and special guests take to the stage. Into electronic, house or techno music? This is the weekend gig for you. Get your tickets here.

16 – Shake things up with cocktails at Bierkeller
