This week Your Guide Liverpool is lining up a week of brand new gigs, comedy and theatre performances and new eateries for you to get stuck into.
After a weekend spent mainly outside trying to catch a tan, we’re continuing the summer-vibes with more light bite menu’s to try out, west end hit shows to see and iconic bands to experience as our stunning city venues throw open their doors for your viewing pleasure! Don’t forget your regular Your Guide Liverpool brekkie and Sunday roast recommendations plus a couple of wild card events to really get you thinking. Monday 8th May
Coeliac Awareness Week May 8-14th 2017
For those suffering with gluten intolerance, dining out or grabbing a quick, lunch-time snack can prove to be a difficult and stressful experience. During Coeliac Awareness Week (8-14 May 2017) we’re going to bring you a wealth of information on the site and social media about local eateries and producers of gluten-free produce that might just help to put the fun back into food.
Gluten Free Eating from The Brink, Parr Street
First up, head to The Brink, Parr Street for not only tasty but affordable gluten and carb free meals and snacks including burgers, sandwiches and wraps. The Brink also serve up flavoursome cakes, macaroons, juices and smoothies that are perfect for a midweek treat. Find out more here.
The legend that is, Bob Dylan plays the Echo Arena for one night only
We chuck the word ‘legend’ around with wreckless abandon these days, but musically, Bob Dylan is one of the most iconic singer-songwriters of the 20th century and so thoroughly deserves that title! Following the release of his critically-acclaimed 37th studio album, Fallen Angels, Bob is set to wow Liverpool for one night only. More info here.

Sun Salutations at Liverpool Yoga Hub, Old Hall Street

Strut Over to Yard & Coop, Hanover Street
Yard & Coop, Hanover Street has launched a new £5 lunch menu, for all those chicken lovers that need their mid-week buttermilk fix. Available Mon-Fri, ditch the soggy butties and opt for burgers, wraps, salads and kebabs stuffed with their divine buttermilk chicken. More here.

Liverpool’s very own Clean Cut Kid are back in town this week to perform tracks from their new album ‘Felt’ (loving the title track above). You can get your album signed from 5:30pm however fans who can’t make it only have to wait until May 20th for their next gig at the 02 Academy. More info here.

Following on from Cinco De Mayo celebrations at the weekend, we’ve wracked up our fave Mexican eateries for a perfect date night dinner. One of the first in the country, Barburrito at Liverpool One is a great pre-cinema spot to grab some tasty bites such as tacos, chips, churros and of course burrito’s packed with your choice of filling. Pulp Frontman Jarvis Cocker introduces Pierre Henry: The Liverpool Mass

50 years after its initial commission, Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker will introduce Pierre Henry’s The Liverpool Mass, presented by Bluecoat at the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King. This pioneering work was developed by acclaimed composer Henry for the Cathedral’s inaugural mass in 1967. Sadly Henry was unable to complete it in time, and another work was substituted. We’ve absolutely no idea what to expect here but we’re intrigued enough to go along and find out! Tickets and details here.
Drop EVERYTHING, It’s Eurovision 2017 at Camp & Furnace
Oh no wait we just remembered…the UK sucks at Eurovision, but you can’t deny, it makes great telly! We had the pleasure of sampling the Beef Roast Dinner at The Dovey, (Formerly The Dovedale Towers) Penny Lane last weekend and the portion sizes are impressive! Expect to be full to the brim with succulent beef, fresh from the ground seasonal veg and rich gravy plus huge Yorkshires and of course a pint or two to wash it down with. Check out the menu here.
Sign Up and Run for the 96 at Stanley Park
Reds and blues fans will once again be looking forward to 14th May – but it’s not the F.A. Cup weekend they’re looking at! It’s the Run For The 96/5K. Now in it’s third year this special 5K is developing into an amazing legacy event for the local communities and in particular the LFC Foundation and Everton In The Community.
