4 – Leave the house!
We can’t get out and about as much as we’d like this Sunday, but thanks to the recent easing of social distancing safety measures, we can spend Father’s Day making family memories together.
Take stroll through the dock gates and around the cobbled Colonnades of the Albert Dock, or get together to revisit the histrionic Liverpool Waterfront to remind your dad, he lives in the best city in the world!
Liverpool is also home to incredible, historic parks, with more than 2,500 acres of unspoilt green space. Take a trip to Grade II listed Sefton Park to explore the Fairy Glen, enjoy the boating lake, now with garden islands, and of course, the stunning Palm House.
Meanwhile, over at Calderstones Park, you’ll find 126-acres featuring woodland, a beautiful Japanese and botanical garden, and The Reader Café, which has now reopened their ice cream parlour, serving drinks, snacks, and ice cream to takeaway from 12pm-5pm, Monday to Sunday.

Join cute cub, Simba, as he moves on from his painful past, making friends along the way to a soundtrack from Elton John. This original Disney classic is available, alongside the 2019 live-action release, voiced by Donald Glover and Seth Rogen.
Amazon Prime: Father of the Bride
When Annie announces she’s getting married, mum, Nina, played by Diane Keaton, throws herself into wedding arrangements, with an unforgettable appearance by Martin Short as ‘Fronk’. Meanwhile, Annie’s dad, George Banks, played by Steve Martin, has a hard time letting go of his little girl in this hilarious and heart-breaking classic.
SKY Cinema: Mamma Mia!
There’s an unmistakable ABBA soundtrack playing, as Sophie, played by Amanda Seyfried, prepares for her wedding. Now, all she needs is her father to walk her down the aisle – as soon as she finds out from whether her dad is Colin Firth, Pierce Brosnan or Stellan Skarsgard. The sequel, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, featuring Cher, is also available as the now happily married couple prepare to reopen the old hotel.
Daddy’s Home
A hilarious game of father-versus-stepfather, as Will Ferrell finds himself competing to care for the kids after their biological dad, played by Mark Wahlberg, comes back into their lives in this madcap comedy.
Disney Plus: Star Wars V: The Empire Strike Back
It’s a different type of Father’s Day for Luke Skywalker as Master Yoda trains him to become a Jedi Knight, his co-stars head-ff the Imperial Fleet, while Darth Vader commences battle to turn Luke to the dark side.
Netflix: Back to the Future
Marty McFly travels back to make sure he has a future in this classic Michael J Fox movie. Arriving in 1955, he hangs out with his dad and plays matchmaker to his future parents during their High School Days.
Netfix: Taken
You already know the famous line, but prepare for Liam Neeson impressions for the rest of the day, as he plays a determined dad, and a former spy, who uses every highly-skilled tactic he has to rescue his kidnapped daughter in this iconic thriller.
Netflix: Mrs Doubtfire
The sadly missed Robin Williams is unforgettable as an estranged dad who will do anything to spend more time with his kids, even if it means transforming himself into a Scottish nanny, and becoming Mrs Doubtfire!
Disney Plus: Finding Nemo
When clownfish father, Marlin, and his son, Nemo, become seperated in The Great Barrier Reef, a beautiful underwater adventure takes place, with help a regal tang, Dory, and superb animation from Disney Pixar in this father-son classic.
6 – Liverpool Derby Day, kick-off at 7pm!
Last, but certainly not least, it’s finally time to get those shirts on and take a seat! After being given the go-ahead to play the fixture in the local surroundings of Goodison Park, fans all over Merseyside and the rest of the world will be staying home this Sunday as Liverpool FC take on Everton FC in the Liverpool Derby!
