With so many amazing movies hitting the big screen in 2019, these are the best cinemas to lose yourself in film.
Who doesn’t love a big box of popcorn, a comfy seat and a memorable tale of adventure, romance, horror, comedy, whatever? 2019 is a huge year for film as we await the highly anticipated release of Rocket Man, Avengers: End Game, X Men: Dark Phoenix, Toy Story 4, the live action Disney’s Aladdin and so many more, we’re itching to book tickets already.

Liverpool ONE ODEON IMAX Cinema

Everyman Cinema
The latest addition to the cinema offering on Merseyside, Everyman Cinema is now open at MetQuarter. Mixing big screen viewing with at home comfort, this 4-screen cinema, bar & kitchen offers film fans a real bespoke service with concierge, at seat service and possible the most comfortable sofa style seating we’ve ever reclined in.

Switch Island ODEON Luxe
Sticking with ultimate comfort, ODEON Switch Island has undergone a brilliant transformation and is now an ODEON Luxe. You can recline in every expertly designed seat, with three times more leg room with a glass of wine or a beer. There’s a table built into your seat too, it’s just like your mum waiting on you at home watching Disney films, but better!

Crosby Community Plaza
The community run Plaza Cinema in Crosby shows all the latest releases, alternative screenings and kids films at much more affordable prices than the mainstream cinemas, which is another reason why its so popular. The Plaza also hosts dementia friendly screenings of classic films and hosts big screen festival films too.

Woolton Picture House
This historic cinema features over 250 relaxing pull-man armchairs for a truly comfortable viewing experience that is still regularly selling out the latest releases. Speke Cineworld
Part of the New Mersey Retail Park, Cineworld Speke is the all singing, all dancing cinema experience. With IMAX, Super Screen, 4DX, Screen X and VIP capability (we’re still haven’t checked them all out yet) this is the cinema to see whichever highly anticipated film, sequel, prequel or classic in the finest possible way. Picture House at FACT
Located in the Ropewalks area, just off Bold Street, Picture House at FACT likes to mix up the latest releases with vintage classics, freebies for students with the E4 Slackers Club, baby friendly Scream Club, 3D blockbusters and loads more. There’s free wifi, a licensed bar and speciality teas and coffees plus themed nights with quizzes and premiers too.

Vue Cheshire Oaks
Coliseum Retail Park is the home of Cheshire Oaks’ whopping Vue Cinema. Light Cinema, New Brighton
New Brighton’s Light Cinema at Marine Point has 8 screens. Showing all the biggest new releases from Hollywood plus opera, theatre and ballet screenings too. There’s sessions specifically for those with babies, dementia friendly screenings and audio description and of course all your family favourites. The Light Cinema also has a bar and is super handy for a stroll along the prom afterwards!
