Youth services at Everton in the Community get a boost from transformed hub
4 hours ago

Hundreds of young people supported by Everton in the Community are set to benefit from a transformed community venue, thanks to support from North West social housing provider Onward Homes.
Just around the corner from Everton in the Community, 41 Goodison is an important base for the charity’s Youth and Support programmes. It’s become a safe space for children and young people who face a range of complex challenges, offering targeted support in an environment that feels welcoming and secure.
The venue already includes a sensory room that’s regularly used by groups like EitC’s Safe Hands programme, which supports neurodiverse young people.
Onward Homes, which provides social housing across the North West, stepped in to help enhance the site even further. Together with its contractor Novus Property Solutions, Onward has transformed the garden at 41 Goodison into a peaceful space where young people can relax. The work included new decking, fresh paintwork and brand-new garden furniture.

The garden makeover is part of Novus’ commitment to deliver £100,000 in social value to communities across Liverpool. It follows on from a donation of slow cookers to EitC families last winter, showing how practical support can help local people.
The charity’s young people will also benefit from new tech inside the house. Through its Digital Connect project, Onward has donated laptops and a digital smartboard, giving participants the chance to build digital skills in a supportive setting.
Jenny Harden, Youth Inclusion Manager at EitC, said:
“We’re really grateful to Onward Homes and Novus Property Solutions for these donations. The new digital equipment and the revamped garden will make a big difference for the young people we work with. We’ve worked hard to create tailored support for those with complex needs and these additions help us do even more.”
Joanne Danaher, Director of Housing and Home Ownership at Onward, said:
“Alongside making homes warmer and more comfortable for customers in Kirkdale, we’re proud to invest back into the community too. It’s fantastic to work with Everton in the Community and Novus on this project, helping create a safe space where young people can thrive.”
Mark George, Head of Operations at Novus Property Solutions, added:
“We’re proud to support this project through our partnership with Onward. Our team has enjoyed helping improve these facilities, knowing they’ll benefit the local community for years to come.”
