Zoe’s Place appoints local construction firm for Little Lights development

Liverpool Zoe’s Place is delighted to announce the appointment of leading local construction firm Krol Corlett as the principal contractor for the new Little Lights hospice.

The appointment marks a significant milestone in the journey to create a purpose-built, state-of-the-art children’s hospice that will provide specialist care and support to babies and young children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, as well as vital support for their families. Work will get underway on site at Hayman’s Green in West Derby in Liverpool from March.

This next big step for the charity follows an extraordinary outpouring of support from the Liverpool community and beyond, who came together to safeguard the future of Liverpool Zoe’s Place. Families, businesses, schools and supporters united in a remarkable show of generosity and determination, fundraising, campaigning and standing shoulder to shoulder to ensure the hospice could continue its vital work. It is thanks to that collective effort that this next chapter as Little Lights is now possible. 

With its head office based in Liverpool, Krol Corlett brings not only extensive experience in delivering high-quality healthcare and community facilities, but also a deep personal commitment to the city and the families the hospice serves.

The new Little Lights hospice has been thoughtfully designed to create a warm, welcoming and highly specialised environment where children can receive expert clinical care, symptom management, respite support and end-of-life care, while families benefit from counselling, wellbeing services and practical support. The hospice will enable the charity to provide more care and support than ever before with facilities including a hydrotherapy pool, a sensory room, eight specialist bedrooms with overnight accommodation, and two dedicated Snowdrop Suites, with plans to expand this provision even further in the future.

The partnership with Krol Corlett represents more than a construction contract, it is a shared commitment to delivering a lasting legacy for the city.
