Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice team up with The Sleepover Club to launch a limited edition pyjama set

28/05/2021

Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice are teaming up with The Sleepover Club to collaborate on a limited edition pyjama set, raising money and awareness for this incredible charity.

These 100% cotton, premium pyjamas feature Zoë Bear – the hospice’s fun and friendly mascot – with a beautifully soft, light blue gingham pattern to complete the look for all the family. By buying one of these limited edition sets of pyjamas, you’ll have the most fantastic sleepwear whilst supporting a fantastic, local cause.

Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice provides expert, nurse-led care to babies and infants with complex medical conditions. It is a colourful and vibrant home-from-home environment, with a non-clinical atmosphere that children love to come to; and families can trust. Smiles and laughter play a big part in the everyday care from the specialist nursing team.

By supporting Zoë’s Place you’re giving family carers the chance to spend quality time with their other children and have a well-deserved break from their 24/7 caring roles – knowing that their child is having a great time and is receiving the best care possible.

Parents can access the service free of charge, which is a lifeline to many. However, it costs currently £1.1 million a year to continue to provide the much-needed care our families desperately need, and with your help, the charity can continue to provide that.

Olivia, the owner of The Sleepover Club, and the team at Zoë’s Place, have spent the last year in preparation for the launch to raise awareness of this extraordinary charity.

She was just 20 when she started her business, as she noticed a gap in the market for high quality and stylish, yet affordable nightwear.

“I never in a million years thought The Sleepover Club would be as successful as it is today,” says Olivia, now 23, who has run the company single-handedly since it first began, and the brand has continued to grow beyond her expectations.

“As soon as I was in a position to, I knew I wanted to give back to places that are special to me. When the opportunity to work with Zoë’s Place came up, I couldn’t turn it down. The values of Zoë’s Place mirror those of my family and I could not think of a better charity to raise awareness for”.

Many families access the charity’s respite care, including the incredible family that have modelled these stunning first edition pyjamas.

Mum, Lisa and Dad, Paul have four amazing children; Jasmine, 6 who loves TikTok and dancing, Holly, 4 who enjoys Ryan’s World and The Avengers, Daniel is 18 months and attends the hospice, who has a trend setting spikey hair do and infectious smile, and Koby who is an adorable 5 month cuddly and chatty baby boy.

Daniel has a severe and extremely rare syndrome called NOCGUS syndrome. Most who have this condition are unable to speak, walk or eat, requiring round the clock care. The condition affects most areas of his body including his heart, brain and his eye. Lisa told us about the moment they first found out about Daniel’s condition.

“It’s not easy to get your head around something like this, and I don’t think we will ever be OK with having a child with complex needs. It’s like a grieving process; that’s the only way I can explain it.”

The past 12 months has had a huge impact on the family’s mental health, causing major anxiety. “I think it would be quite easy for families to go downhill in terms of mental health, if they didn’t get that respite; I know I would that’s for sure. Zoë’s Place really does keep us afloat!”

“When the hospice was first mentioned, I remember bursting into tears thinking why has my gorgeous baby boy got to go to a hospice. I didn’t realise at that point how much we were going to need Zoë’s Place and how much we rely on them! They mean the absolute world to us!

We were blown away with how lovely and welcoming all the staff were. It was the most happy, bright place with fun activities. There are literally no words we can piece together to let the world know how special Zoë’s Place is, and how they have always been there for our family. They get us through those hard times and makes us feel not so alone.  If the hospice didn’t exist, I think life would be pretty dark.”

Lisa and Paul and the family have agreed to model the limited edition sleepwear, to encourage others to support the incredible work of Zoë’s Place.
