Afternoon teas are a treat for any time of the year and it’s a great way to get together with friends or treat a loved one during the festive season.

Here are ten festive afternoon teas for you to try this Christmas season in and around Merseyside.

The London Carriage Works, Hope Street

Enjoy afternoon tea in the classic surroundings of The London Carriage Works.

The menu features roasted turkey, apricot and stuffing sandwiches, winter spiced apple cake, a choux pastry coconut snowball and much more.

Perfect for a celebration after a spot of shopping in town, or just a chance to relax and get all festive in one of the classiest city centre venues.

Fabulously Festive Afternoon Tea is £29.50 per person, £37.50 with an added glass of prosecco or £43.50 if you choose to add a glass of English sparkling Nyetimber.

The Wheelbarrow – Allerton Brass Band with Festive Afternoon Tea 

The Wheelbarrow Christmas - The Guide Liverpool

If you really want to get into the festive spirit, it doesn’t get more Christmassy than listening to the Allerton Brass Band playing all the Christmas classics whilst enjoying  a Christmas inspired Afternoon Tea. Sing-a-long or simply reminisce with family or friends on Saturday 16th December as The Wheelbarrow will be hosting two sittings 1pm or 3pm, whilst the Brass Band play from 2pm till 4pm.  There will be a vegetarian and a meat option available. Enjoy all the nostalgia of Christmas past for £35pp, Seats are limited and can be booked HERE.

Titanic Hotel

Get into the Christmas spirit with Festive Afternoon Teas at the Titanic, one of Liverpool’s most luxurious hotels.

This special event will take place on 10th December from 12.30pm.

Browns will donate 50p from every Browns Afternoon Tea to Shelter, the housing and homelessness charity.

The Grand, Southport

The Grand opened last year in Lord Street following a £3 million makeover, and you can feel the luxury the minute you walk through the door. The big Christmas lights switch on took place last month and The Grand is looking fantastic for the festive season.

You can enjoy afternoon tea at 12:30pm, 1:30pm and 2:30pm in the Brasserie until 31st December (excluding Christmas Day).

It features an assortment of freshly baked scones, finger sandwiches, and an array of sweet treats crafted by the venue’s skilled pastry chefs. Pair your tea with a selection of premium loose-leaf teas or upgrade to a glass of Champagne or festive mulled wine an extra touch of luxury.

Christmas Afternoon Tea at The Grand is £25 per person, and you can upgrade to a glass of fizz or festive mulled wine for £30.

Bramley’s, Ormskirk
