10 reasons to book your tickets for Liverpool Celebrates
3 weeks ago
A huge new festival is coming to the Pier Head this August Bank Holiday weekend celebrating everything that’s amazing about our city.
Over four fabulous days, Liverpool Celebrates will put the spotlight on the music, culture and people of Liverpool, bringing a star-packed line-up of local, national and international artists to the waterfront stage.
It’s going to be one not to miss, so if you’ve not got them already, here are 10 reasons to book your tickets for Liverpool Celebrates …
The Jacksons
It’s not often you get to see genuine global music legends performing at the Pier Head but on Saturday August 24 The Jacksons – Jackie, Marlon and Tito – will be headlining Party on The Pier with an unforgettable show full of floor-filling classics including Blame it on the Boogie, ABC and I Want You Back.
It’s 4 for 3 on tickets right now
An event like this is definitely one to take a group of mates to so if that’s the plan, you’re in luck because if you book your tickets now you can get 4 for the price of 3.
Some of the best tributes in the world perform on Sunday
Liverpool Celebrates has brought together some of the best tribute acts around so if you’re a massive fan of the likes of Bowie, Roxy Music, Fleetwood Mac, The Doors and ABBA (and honestly, who isn’t?) then Sunday is the day you need to get to.
Holly Johnson
Liverpool loves Holly and Holly loves Liverpool so Friday is going to be a very special night on the waterfront. The former Frankie Goes to Hollywood frontman is superb live, as fantastic vocally and funny as ever, and he’s headlining the Liverpool Legends event.
Alongside a host of Liverpool Legends on the Friday
Friday is the big one for anyone who loves our own home-grown artists because alongside Holly there’s an absolutely stellar line-up of Liverpool Legends including Lightning Seeds, Space, China Crisis and Tea Street Band.
Party at the Pier – N-Trance/Bongo’s Bingo DJ Set/Boyzlife and The Jacksons
The Jacksons will be the superstar finale on Saturday, but Party at the Pier has incredible artists so the party will be well and truly on long before they hit the stage. Relive some massive club nights with N-Trance followed by all the mayhem of Bongo’s Bingo DJ Set then Boyzlife, aka Brian McFadden and Keith Duffy.
Cavern Takeover on the Monday
This year is the 10th anniversary of the Mathew Street Festival and on Monday it’s being celebrated with a Cavern Takeover which features tributes to some of the biggest names ever to have played The Cavern like Queen, Elton John, Oasis and Adele – and The Beatles obviously!
Kids tickets are just £5 for Bank Holiday Monday
Bank Holiday Monday is going to be a really family-friendly day at Liverpool Celebrates and if you’re planning on taking the kids you can get their tickets for just £5 each – and under-fives go free.
New music talent across the four days
There’s going to be some world famous artists at the festival but it’s about showcasing emerging ones too so look out for great new music talent playing on all four days.
It’s a chance to celebrate our city
We don’t want to blow our own trumpets … but then again, maybe we do! Liverpool is a class apart, and there’s nothing worth celebrating more than that.
