Advertorial
If you fancy putting yourself in the mix as the next David Guetta, or you reckon you’re as skilled at scribbling as Martin Garrix or Calvin Harris, then you need to head down to Camp and Furnace.
The Baltic venue is hosting its fab RISER Open Deck DJ nights every Thursday from 6pm-11pm, giving DJs at every level the chance to play in its infamous Camp and Furnace warehouse space.
It’s about celebrating 10 years of world-renowned DJs at the iconic city venue, while reaching out to new grassroots DJs and producers in and around Liverpool.
So whether you want a great night out or the thrill of taking to the decks in the legendary venue, here are 10 reasons to check it out.
1. Friends
It’s a great opportunity to meet other like-minded people, folks who are as obsessed with music as you! You can share tips and tales, encourage each other, or just enjoy the beat and a great vibe.
2. Practice
It doesn’t matter whether you’re used to putting on the cans and fine-tuning your sets in your bedroom or giving it large in a bigger place, this is a brilliant chance to try out your latest, or even your first, mix. Everyone at Camp and Furnace is committed to creating a really supportive space!
3. Advice
Get advice from industry experts. RISER is a collaboration between Liverpool Audio Network and music marketing agency Late Night Agency who, between them, have got ‘like, a thousand years’ experience in the music industry’, so if you’ve got questions, they can provide the answers – or point you in the direction of people who have them if they don’t!
4. Support
You can catch and support local talent. Different types of DJs at different points of their careers play at RISER, so you can revel in the sounds of some of the best-known DJs in the city, or be in on the start of something – or someone – big.
5. New music
Find new music for your playlist: every week DJs play music from all sorts of genres from liquid DnB to disco, and big room EDM to techno, so there’ll definitely be something you’ve not heard before and you’ll love.
6. Book DJs
It’s like having your own auditions. RISER is the perfect place to find DJs you’d like to play at your own events.
7. Collaboration
Liverpool Audio Network has a great saying, collaboration – not competition. And RISER is all about helping each other and being in it together. So go to RISER if you want to meet people to collab with and start your own gigs or nights, or even discover guest mixes for your Mixcloud.
8. Knowledge
RISER goes beyond being just an open deck night, with knowledge-lead events and masterclasses for production and DJing, to take-overs from established DJs.
9. After-work drinks
It’s great now we can get back out and mingle with our workmates, and there’s no better place for an after-works drink session than in the Baltic. For this think: Camp and Furnace + great tunes + sun (hopefully).
10. It’s free
No matter who you are, it’s free. Free to go in and free to play… free to enjoy!
