10 things you need to know about BOXPARK Liverpool
2 years ago
2023 is going to be an exciting year for the city with loads going on and lots of great attractions to look forward to.
As well as improvements to favourite bars and restaurants, there are new shows, new exhibitions, new hotels, and new bars.
And among the best of whatâs to come is BOXPARK Liverpool, an award-winning dining, retail and leisure venue. Sound good? Then hereâs 10 things you need to know:
What is BOXPARK?
BOXPARK came up with the first pop-up mall when it launched in Shoreditch, London, in 2010 fusing the concepts of the street food market and the pop-up retail mall to create a community of independent and established brands specialising in fashion, arts, food, and drink.
Where is BOXPARK Liverpool going to be?
Itâs going to have a great home in the Baltic Triangle as part of Cains Brewery Village and youâll find it in Canning Hall. It marks the end of a seven-year search for the company whoâve been looking for a home in the city since 2016.
When will it launch?
And hereâs the only sad news â itâs going to be towards the end of the year but itâs worth the wait and weâll keep you posted when we get a date.
Liverpool is a first
Although BOXPARK began 13 years ago and there are other sites, Liverpool will be number six and is the FIRST outside London, which speaks volumes for the amazing food and drink industry in Liverpool. âWeâre thrilled to announce such a fantastic location for our next BOXPARK adventure,â said CEO Simon Champion.
What can we expect?
The warehouse building will be transformed into a food and entertainment destination set across the ground floor, a small internal mezzanine and a great al-fresco terrace. The idea is that the 16,000 sq ft of space will have around 10 independent kitchen units, three bars inside and more bars outside and, as well as offering a new all-day dining and drinking venue, thereâll be a programme of entertainment with opportunities to champion local artists, creators, and performers.
More good news!
It will mean more than 150 new jobs will be created.
It has a great ethos
With its focus on community, BOXPARK has become a massive food, social and culture hub in the capital, and at its heart is its philosophy of âEat, Drink, Playâ which sounds good to us.
What food will it offer?
If other sites are anything to go by, itâll have an amazing mix of cuisines from all over the world. In London there are small independent traders and restaurants offering everything from Japanese, Jamaican, and Italian food to flavours from Malaysia and Spain.
And the drink?
Again, whatever you could want. In London, you can get everything from Singaporean bubble teas to small batch coffees, craft beers, wines, spirits and cocktails â and Liverpool is sure to have an extensive menu too.
Play
Itâs exciting wondering exactly what will be offered in Liverpool but BOXPARK venues all have a mix of entertainment and activities including:
* Wembley has created its own space for activities like axe throwing, a VR experience, and a PlayBox area which has shuffleboard, table tennis, pool, and table football.
* BOXPARK Croyden has a dedicated cultural and diverse events programme that offers live music shows, markets, sports screenings, comedy nights and more.
