10 ways to enjoy a day out in Liverpool with your dad

Who doesn’t love a little day out with their biggest hero?

We don’t need a special occasion to organise some quality time with our dads. They’re pretty much always on the clock aren’t they? The kings of getting to the airport on time, manning the perfect BBQs and instilling life skills and sayings such as ‘Its like Blackpool Illuminations in here!!” Dads are the best.

We’ve put together a run down of our favourite ways to spend a few hours with our favourite ‘ald man in Liverpool. Get your smart shoes out and a spray of Lynx, we’re going out!

Here’s 10 ways to spend some quality time with your dad in Liverpool…..

1 – A Wee Dram, The Dark Spirits Bar

Why not check out the brand new Dark Spirits Bar at Liverpool Gin Distillery and treat your dad to a dram of the finest, rarest whiskey, including Karuizawa 1981 Noh Single Cask 35-Year-Old will set you back £995 per 25ml shot! There’s also a huge array of more affordable brands, delicious small plates and a laid-back, comfortable feel to the lounge. More here.

2 – Get Competitive at Roxy Ball Room

Did your Dad teach you everything you know? Is he super competitive? Get down to Roxy Ball Room, Rainford Square and challenge him to bowling, table tennis, mini golf, shuffleboard and more, plus a few jars and a slice of pizza, all under one massive roof. No snitching to your mum if he cheats though!

3 – Steak at MPW

You can’t beat a good steak and organising a catch up with your dad doesn’t get much more tasty than at Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill. You can choose from a range of cuts including Ribeye, T-Bone and Sirloin or go for the Chateaubriand for two (£58). Cooked how you like it and served with vine ripened tomatoes, fresh British watercress, triple cooked chips and a classic sauce. Tea done right.

4 – Museum of Liverpool

Scouse pride is something that runs deep in families in Liverpool and you can take a walk down memory lane with your dad at Museum of Liverpool. With brilliant, in-depth exhibitions looking back at the city’s past, its tragedies and triumphs, you and your dad might just learn something new. See what’s on here.

5 – Curry Night, Mowgli

Going for a curry has always seemed like a blokey thing to do, but whoever you are and however you like your curry, there’s a mouth-wateringly good dish waiting for you at Mowgli. Book in at the Water Street restaurant and treat your dad to Indian street food like he’s never had before. Mowgli Chip Butty, Gunpowder chicken and chat bombs are a must! Menus here.

6 – Rock Of Ages, British Music Experience

Based at the Cunard Building on the waterfront, The British Music Experience offers visitors a walk back through time and charts the meteoric rise of Brit Pop. With exhibits from some of the biggest bands in history, including costumes, Brit Awards, original lyrics and instruments you can have a go at! Get the band back together and get tickets here.

7 – Hope Street Jazz, Frederiks

Sticking with music. If your dad appreciates a bit of cool jazz, a nice bar and top class service, head down to Frederik’s for Hope Street Jazz. Featuring a whole host of amazing local and national talent, the open fire roars in the winter time and the funky sounds spill out to the Georgian Quarter in the summer months. Grab a seat, get a few drinks in and unwind. More info here.

8 – A Day at the Races

It doesn’t have to be the Grand National to enjoy a day at the races. Aintree & Haydock Racecourses have various events on throughout the year including sporting fixtures and live music too. Nile Rodgers, Rick Astley and a Club Tropicana day are all lined up in the coming weeks. Get some tickets and get lucky on the GG’s here.

9 – Look Sharp, Body Shop Liverpool ONE

This might not be the most obvious choice when it comes to spending quality time with your dad, but who doesn’t love to look and feel good? The Body Shop Liverpool ONE is offering a cleansing, refreshing facial, in store that leaves your skin feeling brand new. Why not double up and look fab together? Still got it dad! More info here.
