14 things you can do this week in Liverpool

We’re still absolutely buzzing from Pride weekend in Liverpool but that doesn’t mean there isn’t loads to look forward to.

Don’t let a bit of sogginess put you off, here’s 14 great things to do in and around the city this week …

Take on The Anfield Abseil (and enter to win an Anfield experience)

Anfield is the home of incredible memories and, off the pitch, they don’t come much more spectacular than this one. Take the Anfield Abseil challenge and you can scale a 100ft drop down from the main stand! And, until the end of August, you could win a pair of tickets to abseil, a stadium tour and LFC store voucher too.

Find out more and enter to win here .

The Minton tiles unveiled at St George’s Hall

St George’s Hall houses one of the city’s most impressive hidden gems, the rare Minton tiled floor, and from August 1 to 18 it’s going on show for the first time in four years. The 30,000 hand-crafted tiles are really beautiful and there’s a chance to do a ‘night on the tiles’ evening view with music and fizz. Find out more here.

A Greasy Spoon continues at the Royal Court

Head to the Royal Court until August 26 where our Lindzi Germain and castmates are serving extra helpings of laughs in the quick-fire comedy A Greasy Spoon. There’s mayhem in the local caff for Mandy and Shannon when the boss is murdered … mostly because there’s a pretty strong chance they did it! More info here.

Enjoy delicious pizza at Rudy’s Castle Street, Bold Street or the Albert Dock

This is the kind of treble we can get right behind – if you fancy fabulous Neapolitan pizza then get yourself to Rudy’s because theirs are something special. With three to choose from, they’ve got you covered wherever you are and the Albert Dock is now ranking as the number one pizza in Liverpool.

Talking Liverpool ONE, visit the new BOSS store, it’s the biggest outside of London!

While you’re in Liverpool ONE, here’s a massive new arrival not to be missed if you’re in the market for some new season clothes. The BOSS flagship store on Paradise Street is now open, with the latest men’s and womenswear collections plus you can get some tips from their personal stylist.

Be wowed by new art installation Identity at Liverpool Cathedral

The cathedral has had some incredible art installations, and this must be one of the most stunning yet. Artist Peter Walker’s Identity, the third in a series following Peace Doves and Being Human, is on until September 3. It’s the largest to date, and features seven illuminated columns suspended over the Well.

Watch a dinosaur show at Knowsley Safari for Jurassic Summer

At Knowsley Safari this summer holiday, kids can go on an adventure back into a Jurassic world and have some roaring dinosaur fun. They’ll come face-to-face with huge realistic animated puppets, watch shows, experience what it’s like to walk with dinosaurs and even stroke baby ones in the petting zoo. Book your tickets here.

Dine at Gordon Ramsey’s Bread Street Kitchen

Keep your options open on indoors or outdoor eating because Bread Street Kitchen’s got both since it opened its lovely summer terrace in Liverpool ONE – try out the summer menu, including a weekday set two or three courses, and don’t forget the signature cocktails and spritzes to get a sunshiny vibe.

Sing karaoke in the new Karaoke Rooms at Roxy Ball Room, Cavern Quarter

We all turn into a bit of a Celine or a Freddie when it comes to owning the karaoke, no shame in that at all. Grab the mic and unleash your inner diva or frontman legend in front of a VIP crowd of your mates at the new private Karaoke Rooms inside Roxy Ball Room in the Cavern Quarter. Visit the website here.

Enjoy breakfast at Nova Scotia on Mann Island

Start the day off right with the best combination – a gorgeous waterfront location and breakfasts to match. Nova Scotia is big on local produce, freshly cooked, which means their breakfasts are top notch. Maybe go all of kinds of eggs on sourdough if you’re feeling savoury, or a sweet pancake stack. Book tickets here.
