15 festive Liverpool Christmas meals you can book right now

Now the big chocolate tins are in the shops, it’s OK to start thinking about Christmas and planning a Christmas do.


Whether it’s for you and a few mates, or a family get together before the big day itself, there are plenty of different options in Liverpool’s restaurants for a seasonal celebration.

Here are 15 fabulous festive Liverpool Christmas menus you can book now …

Tempest on Tithebarn

New for 2021, Tempest on Tithebarn is a great place to head for small plates and a relaxed atmosphere. It’s got a Christmas menu that’s on from Monday November 15 to Thursday December 23, priced 3 for £18 and £7 each after that. Dishes include beef brisket croquette, salt & pepper chicken wings and veggie sleeping bags (as well as traditional pigs in blankets!).

The Art School

Chef Patron Paul Askew has created some very special menus following The Art School’s annual theme of Twelve Days of Christmas. Choose from the Festive Prix Fixe, with dishes such as roast breast of Thornton Hough pheasant and a trio of AS festive desserts, for £39 for three courses, or the Festive Menu Excellence which includes a glass of Champagne on arrival for £79.

Lu Ban

If you fancy a change from traditional dinner with the trimmings, and you’re a fan of beautiful Chinese food, then Lu Ban could be a gift. Available from November 25, there’s an early menu at £45 per person and dinner menu at £55 with dishes such as honey and soy Goosnargh chicken breast with jasmine rice and white chocolate sphere with Christmas pudding ice cream.

Marco Pierre White Steakhouse at Hotel Indigo

Marco’s is a top choice all year round for steaks, and if that’s what you love then you won’t be disappointed by the Christmas menus because there’s a grilled rump steak on there along with the turkey and other non-meat options. Christmas menus run from November 16 to December 30, dinner is £30.95 for two courses or £35.95 for three.

Gusto

Italians do love a huge family get together for Christmas, so they know how to lay on a fantastic spread of food to go with it. Gusto at the Albert Dock’s is a special one, with lunch at £24.95 for three courses and dinner £32.95. Expect authentic starters like Tuscan ribollita soup and mains including slow-cooked beef featherblade with balsamic onions, and butternut & sage tortellini.

Maray

Crispy spouts might not sound like everyone’s thing, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give them a try – in the hands of Maray’s top chefs, they’re gorgeous. They’re on the small plates Christmas menu along with dishes like confit duck leg and sea bass with parsnip puree. The disco cauli’s in there too obviously. From November 15 to December 30, for groups of four or more.

Ma Boyles

Ma’s always cooking up something tasty, especially those Sunday roasts, and Christmas is no exception. This Christmas there’s a classic menu, including Ma’s giant take on pigs in blankets, three courses for £27 per person or you can go all-out to make sure the celebration’s a merry one and take the bottomless Christmas drinks option for £55 per person (it’s a 1hr 45 min session).

Frederiks

Up on Hope Street, Fred’s is a guaranteed good time – great laidback atmosphere, really decent live music or DJs and some very nice food to go with it – plus that gorgeous big fire to cosy up by. This year the Christmas menu is £27.50 for three courses and a glass of house wine, with mains including slow-roasted topside of beef and chestnut and cranberry nut roast.

Gino’s Liverpool

They’re promising that this Christmas is going to be a big one at Gino’s so if you’re tempted, head for the corner of Castle Street and from November 8 to January 4 you’ll find set Italian Christmas menus, £37 per person or £46.50, featuring steaks, pan-fried seabass, turkey saltimbocca and desserts like Baileys panna cotta, tiramisu and an unbelievable chocolate fondant stuffed with chocolate truffles.

Mowgli

Could chat bombs for Christmas be a thing? Mowgli’s are so amazing they definitely should and they’re on the Christmas menu this year to kick things off, before you get to choose from street chat & street meats (including Himalayan cheese on toast), tiffin boxes and desserts like warm chocolate brownie and ice cream. £29.95 per person including a glass of fizz to get you started.

The London Carriage Works

For a real treat, one of the finest in the city has got to be London Carriage Works at Hope Street Hotel. From November 26 to December 30 they’ve got a fabulous festive dinner menu for £42.50 (Sun-Thurs) or £57.50 (Fri & Sat). Mains include poached and roasted lamp rump with black kale, and seared fillet of salmon with clam and mussel chowder.

The Florist

If you want an Insta background that’s going to look as beautiful as the food tastes, try the Christmas party dining menu at The Florist on Hardman Street. Three courses, all day every day, for £32.50 including a beer or glass of prosecco. There’s a turkey kebab with cranberry and orange glaze or baked salmon with parmesan as well as black forest pavlova for dessert.

Smoke & Dough

In Liverpool ONE, American-Italian restaurant Smoke & Dough is a popular family favourite and a really good choice for parties of all sizes, especially for meat lovers who fancy cuts cooked at their table that just keep on coming. Choose from two options, with prices depending on when you want to go – from £13.99 for 12-5pm Mon to Fri, to £19.99 all day Saturday.

Silk Road

It’s all about superb eclectic flavours at Silk Road and tapas-style dishes that really have a wow about them. For Christmas, Silk Road on Beetham Plaza’s got a special banquet menu for £24 per person which starts off with a sharing platter then goes on to tapas sharers like Massaman curry, Greek lamb and rhubarb stew, and Mediterranean salmon kebab, and ends with petit fours.

Baltic Social

You can have yourself a massive festive blow-out by going bottomless at Baltic Social but you’ll have to be quick because it’s only happening on two December dates and they’re nearly sold out already. The Festive Bottomless Christmas Dinner is on Saturday Dec 18 and Sunday 19, in timed sittings from 12-2pm, 3-5pm or 6-8pm – so that’s two hours of endless festive food and booze!
