Halloween is finally here so if you’ve got room in your plans for something extra, we’ve got you covered.
Here are 15 creepy (and not-so creepy) things happening around Liverpool this weekend …
The absolute DJ legend that is Dave Graham taking control of the tunes for a monstrous night at Tres cocktail bar on Temple Court this Saturday. It’s the first night of his new monthly residency there, he’ll be going to go crazy with the dressing up box and it’s going to be massive.

Food at Liverpool Cathedral Welsford Bistro is always fantastic and obviously the surroundings are stunning. Now there’s not only a new main autumn menu, there’s a new kids one too with mini versions of favourites like their classic fish and chips. They’re also open for brunch if you’re visiting earlier.

The Katumba Halloween Carnival is back as part of Routes & Roots – Festival of the African Diaspora and this year there’ll be an amazing stage show at the Bombed Out Church from 5pm to 9pm and surprise pop-up performances around Church Street and Liverpool ONE on Sunday from 4.30-9pm.

The irresistible rhythms of the Batala drummers will be celebrating Halloween at the Albert Dock, bringing their samba reggae beats to the waterfront for three performances on Sunday from 7pm. It’s a colourful spectacular of music and dance for all the family, guaranteed to get you moving.

This year’s River of Light trail started last weekend and it’s already been attracting big crowds, so don’t miss it. There are 12 new stunning illuminated artworks to discover, along the river and dotted around the city centre on a 2k route. It’s all free to see and on until November 7.

Rosie Jones, who’s a regular on TV shows like 8 out of 10 Cats and Mock the Week, takes on the role of MC for a night of comedy as part of this year’s Homotopia festival featuring Sian Davies, Rosie Wilby, Kitty Messalina and Sam Serrano. At the Capstone Theatre, Shaw Street, on Saturday from 7.30pm.

Round off the half term holiday by taking the kids for a ghoulish day out to Southport Pleasureland’s Halloween Spooktacular. It’s been all decked out with pumpkins, bats, spiders and ghostly gardens so you’re in for a (nicely) terrifying treat and you can book for a live theatre performance of the Twitchy Witch then meet the Witch herself.

Look out for a triple threat on Seel Street this weekend because Entry Bar has teamed up with its neighbours at Only Fools and BallPark to create a Halloween bar crawl on Sunday. A £12 ticket gets you a cocktail in each bar, or if you just fancy Entry Bar they’ve got Halloween cocktails, music and games all weekend.

Good news for fans of Mamasan because it’s added a brand-new selection of Southeast Asian-inspired dishes to its a la carte menu for winter. New starters include Katsu Chicken Bao Buns loaded with rainbow slaw, pickled chillies and curry mayo and there’s a gorgeous sounding Red Curry of Confit Duck with charred pineapple as a main.

The Watering Can in Greenbank Park is a great place for food (don’t get us started on all that amazing cake) and now there’s a new roast menu from this Sunday, 2 courses for £26 with a wine or beer.
