17 Things to do with the kids on Merseyside during Christmas week

Here’s how to keep the kids entertained after Santa has been.

They’ve lived on turkey and selection boxes for three days and now it’s time to get back out there and see what’s on for the kids this Christmas week. Get wrapped up, grab your Christmas money and vouchers and check out a panto, motorcross show, film experience or get creative with our run down of the best events and sessions for kids.

Here’s 17 things to do with the kids this Christmas week in Liverpool….

1 – Peter Pan, St Helens Theatre Royal

Just because the big man has been, it doesn’t mean that panto season is over! Go and see Peter Pan at St Helen’s Theatre Royal for a fab, family outing. Tickets here.

2 – Liverpool International Horse Show

The Liverpool International Horse Show brings 4 days of thrilling action to the Echo Arena from 27th December and with great value family tickets you can check out the horse power, motor cross, Shetland grand national and more.

3 – The Snowman and The Bear and The Piano

Liverpool Cathedral plays host to a unforgettable film screening of this beautiful story with a live orchestra on Saturday 28th December. Tickets available here. 

4 – Knowsley Safari

Did you know it’s only ÂŁ20 per car at Knowsley Safari from Wednesday to Sunday? Take your cheeky monkeys to see what the real ones get up to during the winter on Merseyside. Details here.

7 – Ice Skating in Southport

8 – Liverpool Ice Festival

The perfect place to indulge in a bit of fresh air and fairground fun, why not head down to the Pier Head for a swoosh down the ice slide, white knuckle ride on the ice jet or a little merry go round for the little ones? More info here. 

9 – Otterspool Adventure

Open on Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and New Years day from 10am, Otterspool Adventure Centre is bursting with activities for kids during Christmas week. Whatever the weather, there’s something to burn off some energy for all ages. More info here. 

10 – Hit the Shops at Liverpool ONE

Have your kids got Christmas cash, gift Vouchers or gift cards burning a hole in their pockets? Liverpool ONE stores are open from 10am on Boxing Day and are open until 4pm on both New Years Eve and 6pm on New Years Day too. More info here. 

11 – Blackpool Big Ticket

12 – Magical Mermaid Day, Blue Planet

13 – Graffiti Art Class, Zap

Saturday 29th December at 2pm, there’s a brilliant graffiti art class on offer from Zap. Classes are suitable for kids age 6 and up and they get their own poster to bring home too. More info here. 

14-  Beauty & The Beast, Unity Theatre

The Georgian Quarter’s, Unity Theatre presents Beauty & The Beast from 27th December until 5th January (closed on NY Day). A hilariously funny adaptation of this classic story. Tickets available here. 

15 – Liverpool Museums

From 27th-30th December, Liverpool Museums are open from 10am until 5pm and you can discover ancient worlds, get crafty, learn morse code, check out Titanic fashion and much more, for free, this Christmas week. See what’s on across all venues, here. 

16 –  Spring City Liverpool

Liverpool’s first trampoline park, Spring City throws open its doors again on 27th December so if your little ones need to burn off some steam, this is the place for you. Check out offers and book online here. 

17 – Kidz Fantasy Land

Another great way to burn off some excess energy, Kidz Fantasy Land, Edge Lane is the perfect place to let the kids run wild. Whether you’ve shopped the sales at Liverpool Shopping Park or just fancy an hour out, doors open here at 9:30am from 27th December. More info here.
