5 reasons why the kids will love a trip to Martin Mere this summer holidays
5 years ago
Martin Mere Wetland Centre is a wildlife haven where kids can let off some steam with fresh air fun.
Not too far from Ormskirk, there’s a place where families can spend the day getting back to nature, whatever the weather. Martin Mere Wetland Centre is an oasis for wildlife and families alike, just a short journey from our bustling city. This summer why not ditch the tech and encourage the kids to get hands on with exploring habitats and the creature that share our North West home.
Martin Mere is open 7 days a week from 9:30am until 6pm (during summer months) and offers lots of different activities for visitors of all ages. And right now, there’s 6 GIANT creatures to discover.
Here’s 5 things all kids will love about a trip to Martin Mere this summer….
1 – GIANT Visitors
From little to large! Martin Mere is currently home to 6 GIANT Bionic Bugs which have been brought to life with sound and animatronics. See if you can spot them around the grounds.
2 – Little Explorers
Martin Mere provides free activity book for kids with 8 different bug themed activities to keep them entertained for the whole day, a stamp to be collected for each one.
3 – All Aboard
Why not relax and take a Canoe Safari or Boat Tour? The kilometre -long waterways allow visitors to explore at their own pace in a canoe or on a guided boat tour, and the boat is wheelchair friendly too.
4 – Pond Life
Martin Mere also has a new Pond Zone with raised ponds where kids and adults can try their hand at pond dipping to see what underwater critters they can find.
5 – Play Time
Kids love nothing more than swings, slides, roundabouts and climbing so why not finish off your day at the huge adventure playground? Let the kids burn off a bit of steam or check out the wet play area to cool down on summer days.
Martin Mere offers great value for money – a real helping hand during the long summer holidays. Family passes (2 adults and 2 children) are priced from as little as £30.51, this includes a 10% discount if you book admission tickets online.
