6 Things do with the kids at Liverpool Food & Drink Festival 2017

There’s just a couple of days left before the 10th anniversary foodie celebrations get underway at Sefton Park, and there’s something for all the family to enjoy.

Liverpool Food & Drink Festival is back at Sefton Park this weekend, 16-17th September and the Kids Village looks EPIC! Open from 10:30 until 7:30pm on Saturday and 10:30 until 5:30pm on Sunday, there’s tonnes of activities, live music, workshops and demos, plus a whole load of finger-licking food to try out.

Kids under 14 go free and so what more excuse do you need to get the kids together, try a bit of street food and let them blow their pocket money on some seriously sweet treats. You can also get them booked in to try out a cookery class, learn more about Merseyside wildlife with the RSPB and even don a lab coat for some weird science!

Watch as Jay made some new friends at last years Liverpool Food & Drink Festival, Family Zone. With so much to see and do for all ages, we’ve lined up 6 of the best kids activities to get involved in at the 10th anniversary Liverpool Food & Drink Festival 2017 at Sefton Park this weekend. How many will you do?

1 – Get your geek on with Flash Bang Science

Flash Bang Sciences’ mobile lab will be pulling up at Sefton Park this weekend to teach the kids (and us) a thing or two about awesome experiments and the wonders of science in the modern world. Lab coats and goggles at the ready youngsters can get hands on and learn something new while having fun! More info here.

2 – Decorate cupcakes with Kumon

Woolton based education centre, Kumon have gone wild in the bakery aisles to bring a cupcake decorating tent to the Kids Village. Offering individual maths and English study programmes, Kumon go above and beyond to help your little dudes reach their potential. Send us your cupcake pics, tweet us @TheGuideLpool and we’ll pop down and join in!

3 – Get sparkly with Ginger Island

Oh we do love a good glitter sesh and Liverpool Food & Drink Festival have brought in the pro’s! Ginger Island will be glamming you up, creating mini princesses and hero’s and basically making everything look like its been dipped in sequins and sprinkled with fairy dust! Lets see if we can Jay down there too!

4 – Play MasterChef with Kidz Kitchen Cookery sessions

Did you know that your little ones can get in on the cookery sessions this weekend too? Oh Yes! Kidz Kitchen are offering pre-bookable cookery classes for youngsters and the menu sounds divine! Roll up your sleeves, grab an apron and learn how to create cous cous salad, Asian noodles, cheesecake and more! Click here to book your spot now.

5 – Ice your own biscuits with Water Babies

Water Babies return to the Kids Village with their popular biscuit icing activities and judging by the amount of hundreds & thousands, chocolate buttons and Smarties they went through last year, we’ll need to book some swimming lessons ourselves to burn off all the extra calories! More on infant swimming sessions in Liverpool here.

6 – Stock up on sweet treats

Now it wouldn’t be a proper Kids Village if there weren’t lots of sweet treats on offer. Seeing as its the weekend why not indulge in a fizzy Tango Ice Blast, a huge bag of pic n’ mix and finish off with a cone stuffed full with chocolate-dipped churros. We’re practically drooling on our screen just writing it! Save your pocket money kids and stock up on your fave treats.

Tickets are available in advance online from www.liverpoolfoodanddrinkfestival.co.uk and are priced at £6 per day or £10 for a weekend pass and children under 14 go free.

What are you most looking forward to at the 10th Anniversary Liverpool Food & Drink Festival this weekend? Tweet us @TheGuideLpool or email us info@theguideliverpool.com and we’ll share the best on our socials.
