7 bars and restaurants you need to visit Ainsdale
1 year ago
We all know Ainsdale has a gorgeous beach with miles of golden sand to enjoy and views to Blackpool on a clear day.
But Ainsdale village is fast becoming one of the best places in the area for a meal and drinks.
So whether you’re looking to jump on the train and discover a new place to eat, or revisit an old favourite, here are seven places to eat and drink in Ainsdale within a stone’s throw of the station.
Tipple
With a gorgeous terrace wrapped right around the corner of this popular bar and restaurant, summer is the perfect time to visit Tipple.
But even on cooler days you can enjoy food and drinks inside or under one of the outdoor heaters.
From brunch, through small plates and pizzas, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
The Firecracker Chicken Bites are one of our favourites and the cauliflower wings make a great accompaniment to a cocktail.
Dog friendly too, so you can enjoy a walk with your pooch before calling in to Tipple.

Harbour Café Bar
With the bi-fold doors thrown open for summer and regular live entertainment, the Harbour is a great destination for the warm summer evenings.
But you can call in anytime of the day for hot and cold coffee, drinks, and food at this little gem of a place.
Grab a comfy armchair by the open doors and watch the world go by as you enjoy a cooling drink.

Dolce Vita
This family run Italian restaurant has been serving up authentic cuisine in Ainsdale for three decades. And it is not hard to see why it’s stood the test of time.
Whether you fancy a light lunch of sharing antipasto or the full evening set menu, priced at a reasonable ÂŁ23.95 for two sumptuous courses, you will be enjoying great food and brilliant service.

The Golden Monkey
Serving real ale and with a laid-back atmosphere, the Golden Monkey is a favourite of the Ainsdale crowd and visitors to the village.
The outdoor area is a real sun trap, and there are great cocktails and draft lager to try if you aren’t a real ale drinker. But if you are, keep an eye on their Facebook for updates on which beers they’ve got for you to try.
And with Graysons next door, you can pop in for a sandwich if you get a bit peckish after sampling the drinks.

Dukes
This classy bar and bistro has a generous outdoor terrace to enjoy the warmer weather.
There is a great breakfast menu, which ranges from traditional to dishes like Huevos rancheros – eggs on toasted tortilla with avocado, chilli, and refried beans. There’s also pancakes for those with a sweet tooth.
The steak frites comes highly recommended for lunch and there is an evening menu of classics available as well as tapas. We hear the Sunday lunch is pretty special too.

Mecycle
Sitting right next to the station this is a bike lovers hangout – but don’t worry if you don’t arrive on two wheels, Mecycle is for everyone.
This is a coffee and quick bite joint with outside tables and friendly staff. And if you do want to pick up some cycling gear or book your bike in for a service, you can do it at the same time.

Squirrel Tea Room
You have to walk a little further along the road from the station to reach the Squirrel Tea Room, but if you’re looking for great cakes, lovely coffee and a nice atmosphere it’s worth it.
The family who run the tea room used to have a coffee van at nearby Formby beach but sadly for beach lovers they had to move.
But don’t despair. Find them in Ainsdale with everything you loved about the beach offering – and more.
