7 of our favourite ways to enjoy a coffee in and around Liverpool
2 years ago
UK Coffee Week is a nationwide fundraising campaign for Project Waterfall, bringing clean drinking water to coffee growing communities.
Thousands of coffee shops, roasters and individuals across the country take part every year.
As UK Coffee Week comes to an end on Sunday here are some of our favourite ways to enjoy a coffee in and around Liverpool this weekend.
Coffee with a movie
Café Tabac, Bold Street
CafĂ© Tabac has been a Liverpool institution since the 1970s and with good reason. As well as serving great coffee and food, during October you can enjoy classics at Screen Tabac like The Shining and the Rocky Horror Picture Show, which are specials for the Halloween season. If movies arenât your thing, Tabac also serves a legendary breakfast, and the outdoor seating area is a great place for people spotting.

Coffee for cyclists
Ryde Café, Northern Lights, Baltic Quarter
Ryde CafĂ© enjoys a big reputation for good coffee. Serving Allpress Redchurch blend, you are guaranteed one of the best flat whites in town. As well as excellent coffee and great food – the cheesy toast is a must â Ryde is also the place for cyclists. It has an onsite bike shop offering accessories, repairs, and even custom built and sprayed bikes. There is also a very cosy log burner for when the temperatures start to drop.

Coffee⊠and tea
Leaf, West Kirby
Just like its sister venues in Liverpool, Leaf is a tea specialist. But rest assured, it is great for coffee too, including a lovely Irish Coffee to warm you up at the winter approaches! The Leaf team searched Wirral for the right venue and settled on their space in West Kirby. The kitchen offers all the great Leaf favourites as well as a childrenâs menu. And keep an eye on the events space for its programme which includes quiz nights and Spotify Wednesdays.

Coffee down on the farm
Claremont Farm, Bebington, Wirral
Claremont Farm is one of the most picturesque places in Wirral to enjoy a coffee. Combine your caffeine fix with pumpkin picking until the end of October or pick up some local produce in the farm shop which also sells amazing cheese and chutney. You can also browse the butchery counter run by local butchers Whieldons, where you can also pick up fresh handmade pies and sausage rolls.

Coffee with a view
The Lake House, Waterloo, Crosby
Enjoy your favourite coffee with one of the best views in Merseyside. Part of the Lakeside Adventure Centre next to Crosby Marina, this upmarket eatery is also a great place to stop off for a latte or a flat white. On a warmer day, take a seat on the outdoor decking area or a table next to the floor to ceiling windows offering a great view of the marina.

Coffee and a beach walk
Kiosk Coffee, Freshfield, Formby
Kiosk Coffee is the perfect place for a pick me up after a long walk on Formby beach. Conveniently placed right next to Freshfield train station, there might only be outdoor seating but the heaters and canapy means you can rest up any time of the year with your cuppa. The pastries are earning legendary status and we can highly recommend the Almond and Apricot Danish.

Coffee (and gin..!)
Remedy Churchtown, Botanic Rd, Southport
Coffee is really important to Remedy Churchtown, and its other outlets in and around the seaside town. But so is gin. All the staff at Remedy have a favourite, and new gins are introduced all the time with a Gin of the Week. Also keep an eye out for quiz nights and cocktails. For those of us who just want good coffee, they have that in abundance as well served in the classic Italian way.
